While Netflix Canada may have only received 41 brand new titles this week, it certainly isn’t lacking in quality. There are some absolutely fantastic titles to be enjoyed this week and more than enough to see through to the next. Here’s what’s new on Netflix Canada for August 16th, 2019.
First of all, here’s the past week’s highlights on Netflix Canada:
Forrest Gump (1994)
Tom Hanks is a very hard man to dislike, especially with such a performance like the one who did for Forrest Gump. One of the most beloved films of the 90’s we’d be shocked if you haven’t already watched it by now. Regardless if you have or haven’t it’s now on Netflix Canada and you have no excuse not to watch it!
Forrest Gump is not a smart man but he has a heart of gold. While waiting for his bus he recounts his life to one of many strangers that pass him by. From his time as a child with a brace to correct his curved spine, a college football star and time served in Vietnam, Forrest Gump has lived through it all. But the one thing that weighs on his mind most is his love and childhood friend, the troubled Jenny.
Willy Wonka & the Chocolate Factory (1971)
The beloved Roald Dahl classic is now available to stream on Netflix Canada for the very first time. Starring the late Gene Wilder, the original film based on Roald Dahl’s beloved children novel has been watched by millions worldwide for almost five decades.
The mysterious chocolatier Willy Wonka had shut out the public from his factory in fear of his competitors stealing his work. Years later the world is sent into a frenzy when it’s announced Wonka will invite five people to the factory so long as they have a golden ticket. Hidden amongst Wonka bars around the world, it becomes a race to find one of the five golden tickets.
Mindhunter: Season 2 N
Almost 22 months on from the release of the first season and we can now enjoy the second season of Mindhunter! The stakes are higher and the killers interviewed are even more infamous.
After making headway with their research, Holden got too cocky and his confrontation with Ed Kemper resulted in a nervous breakdown. But Holden and his partner Bill Tench must continue their research into interviewing some of America’s most dangerous killers, including the infamous Charles Manson. A serial killer targeting children in Atlanta also attracts the attention of the FBI, in the hope of catching the killer they send Holden and Tench to figure out who the murderer is.
