We’re way into May and this week has welcomed a total of 28 new titles to our Canadian screens. This includes 15 new movies, 5 documentaries, 7 TV series and 1 Netflix Stand-up show. Along with a complete list below, you will find three paragraphs that cover some titles that we feel are worth pointing out.
The second season of the Netflix Original ‘13 Reasons Why‘ has just arrived, to the delight of many fans. The show takes place after the suicide of a high-school student Hannah Baker and tells the story of what she leaves behind. Although the series has been shrouded in controversy it has still picked up a large fan base who can’t wait to see whats next in store.
Next, we have chosen to pick out another Netflix Original ‘Cargo‘. The new Drama, Thriller stars Martin Freeman as a father trying to save his child in a post-apocalyptic nightmare after a brutal virus grips the country. The film has been met with positive reviews and is definitely worth a watch if you’ve got some time.
Finally, for any BBC fans, the 7th season of ‘Call the Midwife’ is now available to stream on Netflix. The TV Drama that started back in 2012 follows the lives of a group of midwives living in East London in the 50s’. Based on the number one bestseller by Jennifer Worth, the series has received plenty of praise over the years and is a great British period drama.
