Only a couple days before Christmas is officially here! But that doesn’t mean Netflix isn’t adding plenty more great titles to Canadian screens. 43 Movies have been added this last week, along with 4 Documentaries, 12 new TV shows and an additional 1 Stand up show. As usual, we have taken time to pick out three titles specifically to talk about, this way we hope you have somewhere to start watching. Our first pick goes to the brand new Netflix Original ‘Bright‘ starring Will Smith and Joel Edgerton. The film is set in a fantasy, but modern world, where mystical races live alongside humans. Edgerton plays the first Ocr ever to join the police department and is partnered with Will Smith, who quickly find trouble in the form of a magical wand. The show has been praised for its mix of gritty real-life and sinister fantasy elements. Definitely, one to check out on Netflix.
From Guillermo del Toro comes the second season of ‘Trollhunters‘. Staring the late Anton Yelchin as Jim Lake Jr, a seemingly normal kid who just wants a bit of adventure in his life. He gets a little more than he bargained for, after finding a magic amulet that chooses him to be the champion of a secret civilization of trolls. Now Jim must juggle his school life and the life of a warrior. Despite Anton sadly passing away in 2016, he did record enough voice for the second season to be released.
Our last pick for this week is the fourth season of the very popular Netflix Original series ‘The Ranch‘. Since it’s 1st season debuted in 2016 the show has picked up many fans, who will all be pleased to see the next chapter in the Bennett family now streaming on Netflix. For those who aren’t familiar with The Ranch, the series follows a family who run a Colorado ranch, and after one of the sons Colt Bennett returns home after a semi-pro football career, there are some arguments about who should take over the business.
