January is nearly over, and we hope you had a great first month of 2018. We’re once again taking a look at the past week and all the titles that have come to Canadian Netflix. The past 7 days have welcomed 23 new titles consisting of 10 new movies, 1 documentary and 12 TV series. Sometimes it can be hard to pick a new series or movie to watch on Netflix, so we’re going to highlight 3 new additions, in the hope of giving you a good idea where to start.
Our first pick for this week is the popular Netflix original that’s just debuted its fourth season. ‘Grace and Frankie‘ is a comedy series starring Jane Fonda and Lily Tomlin as two unlikely friends who are brought together after it’s revealed that their husbands have been lovers for 20 years. The comedy has been received exceedingly well and has built up quite an impressive fan base who should be pleased to see that season 4 is now streaming on Netflix.
Another Netflix Original that has just arrived is the new movie ‘Step Sisters‘. The film follows Jamilah, a successful college student on the fast track to Harvard Law School. Everything is going her way until a new group of party girls embarrasses the school and Jamilah are called in to help. She now must use all her knowledge to train the group of girls in the art of ‘step dance’, in order to win one of the most competitive dance competitions around. This movie is clearly not for anyone, but any fans of Pitch Perfect or dance movies, in general, should love this film.
Lastly, for this week we have chosen to mention the second season of ‘Van Helsing‘. The Syfy series that is, while cheesy, instantly watchable and will be a guilty watch for many has returned with more over the top vampire action.
