First of all, here are the highlights from the past week:

See You Yesterday (2019) Netflix Original

Produced by Spike Lee, See You Yesterday has been a creation a long time in the making. Previously developed as a 10 minute short by Stefan Bristol, finally, the aspiring director was able to develop his brainchild into a feature-length film.

Longtime friends C.J. Walker and Sebastian Thomas are teenage prodigies, both have incredible intellect and bright futures ahead of them. But when C.J.’s brother is wrongfully shot by a police officer the two teenagers build a time machine to stop the wrongful killing. The pair are successful in jumping back in time but will soon learn time-travel is more complex than they ever thought possible.

Call The Midwife (Season 8)

Arguably one of the most popular series the BBC has produced in recent years, Call the Midwife has been immensely popular thanks to Netflix’s outreach. Finally, the highly anticipated 8th season has arrived, given longtime fans new content to watch and new viewers eight seasons to binge on!

With all the technology and medication available nowadays, it’s easy to forget that once upon a time things weren’t so dandy. This period drama primarily focuses on one newly qualified midwife, Jenny, who is sent to work in a convent. You know what it’s like… Going somewhere new and feeling overwhelmed by everyone and everything, but then several months later you question why it felt so scary. Jenny soon makes friends with other nurses and makes a difference in other peoples’ lives.

Limitless (2011)

A fantastic concept that received very mixed reviews, Limitless still managed to impress. Eventually, the series spawned a sequel series that saw Bradley Cooper reprise his film role briefly. Definitely, worth a watch, this thought-provoking sci-fi thriller needs to be on your watch list.

On the verge of being unemployed and being dumped by his girlfriend, Eddie Morra is down on his luck. But when an old friend gives him a drug that enhances his mind, soon Eddie’s life takes a drastic change. Hooked on the wonder drug, Eddie climbs to the top of the financial world at breakneck speed.
