Happy Friday! Welcome to the weekly roundup of the new titles to hit Netflix in Canada over the past 7 days. Some great titles have arrived to the service this week. Let’s take a look at some of the highlights that have arrived over the past few days. I’ve seen each title listed and would personally recommend them.

Let’s start with movies. Quincy, a new Netflix Original Documentary, is an intimate look into the life of music icon Quincy Jones. Directed by his daughter Rashida Jones, this star-studded film seamlessly threads personal vérité moments with private archival footage to reveal a legendary life like no other.

Another Netflix Original worth watching this weekend is Nappily Ever After. Starring Sanaa Lathan, it’s about a frantically perfectionist ad exec who embarks on a journey of self-discovery—starting with her hair. Her odyssey changes not only the way she views herself and what she wants for her life but her overall ideals on the meaning of beauty. We don’t have to have it all to be happy.

If you’re getting into the autumn mood, The Witch was also added this week. This mysterious chiller is set in 1630 New England. When the youngest child of a farming family suddenly disappears, mistrust and paranoia envelop the group as they begin to suspect their oldest daughter is a witch. It’s a slow-building drama that is very unsettling.

Moving over to series, there is one you should definitely be adding to your list this weekend: Maniac. A limited original Netflix series, it has a first-rate cast. Starring Jonah Hill, Emma Stone, and Sonoya Mizuno, it’s about two strangers drawn to the late stages of a mysterious pharmaceutical trial that keep finding themselves pulled together. There are many different stories as they go through different stages of the trial. It’s immediately engaging.

Netflix is dipping their toes into the police procedural with The Good Cop. Another Netflix Original, it’s brought to us by the creator of Monk with a producer of The Office also joining the crew. Josh Groban stars as a brilliant, straight-laced NYPD detective who makes a point of always following the rules while solving Brooklyn’s toughest cases. His father (Tony Danza) is a not exactly honorable, former NYPD officer who never followed the rules. It’s laced with lots of dry humor and interesting cases. This is the cop drama you can watch with your parents.

You have a lot of great watching choices this weekend. Here are all of the new titles added this past week:
