This month we get to see some Netflix Original anime favorites returning to Netflix with some brand new seasons. Here’s a complete look of all the new anime series and movies on Netflix for October 2018.

September 2018 was a big month for new anime and October looks to be even better in some regards.


Violet Evergarden (OVA) Netflix Original

Release Date: October 4th

For this special release of the OVA, the episode will take place between episodes 4 & 5 of Violet Evergarden. The main focus of the episode is centered around a letter request from an Opera House Songstress.

Based on the Light Novel of the same name and written by Author Kana Akatsuki. “Violet Evergarden” has been one of the stand-out animes of this year.

The Plot

The plot is centered around Violet Evergarden, a former soldier who is searching for her place in society and her life’s purpose after leaving the military. It was her former commander’s final words of ‘I love you’ that she decided to become an auto memory doll for the ‘CH Postal Company’ to learn what those words mean.

Auto memory doll’s work as ghostwriters for those unable to write or struggle to express their emotions in their letters.

Lost Song Netflix Original

Written by veteran voice actor Junpei Morita this is the production of LIDENFILMS in collaboration with Dwango. This musical anime stars the amazing voice talents of Japanese musician Konomi Suzuki and voice actress Yukari Tamura.

The Plot

Young passionate and energetic countryside girl Rin journeys to her countries capital to sing while songstress Finis spends time alone trying her best to help the war front.

In this world, Rin and Finis have the ability to sing “spirit songs”, a magical ability of great legend that allows the user to manipulate the four elements and bring forth miracles. With their destinies entwined, will the final song be of hope or despair?

Seven Deadly Sins: Revival of The Ten Commandments Netflix Original

Seven Deadly Sins was the 2nd anime Netflix picked up and is easily one of the best animes out there currently. Since its release in November 2015, fans have been clamouring for another season. Almost 3 years later, fans have finally got their wish.

The Plot

After helping Princess Elizabeth retake the Kingdom of Liones from the corrupt Holy Knight Hendrickson, the Seven Deadly Sins are commended for their help and bravery by King Bartra and are no longer fugitives of the Kingdom. The peace is short-lived as the evil Ten-Commandments are summoned by an enemy thought dead. The Seven Deadly Sins must reunite once again to take on the greatest threat to the Kingdom of Liones in over 3000 years.


Castlevania Season 2 Netflix Original

Based on the video game franchise of the same name, Castlevania is a massive franchise that Netflix was able to pick up for its collection of animated shows.

Prior to Netflix picking up Castlevania the show had been in a production nightmare for years.

Fans of the show were disappointed that season one was only released with 4 episodes, but they can rejoice now as season 2 has been confirmed to have 8 brand new episodes and the full cast has returned to reprise their roles, including Richard Armitage as protagonist Trevor Belmont.

The Plot

After the death of his wife at the hands of the church, Dracula is enraged desires revenge above all else on the nation of Wallachia. Disgraced monster hunter Trevor Belmont fights against Dracula’s horde of monsters with the help of the Magician Sypha Belnades and Dracula’s very own half vampire son Alucard.


Fate/EXTRA Last Encore: Illustrious Geocentrism Theory Netflix Original

Release Date: October 30th
Studio: Shaft

The Fate franchise has been ginormous in the anime world that originally stemmed from video games of the same name. Netflix was able to capitalize on the popularity of the Fate series by gaining the streaming rights of both Fate/Apocrypha and Fate/Extra Last Encore.

Fate/Extra Last Encore has already released on Netflix but by the end of October, a 3-part special to round up the series will be available to stream. The 3 episode special originally aired in Japan back in July.

The Plot

Time is running out for Hakuno as he reaches the seventh floor, as he clings to his last ray of hope will he be able to save the last remnants of humanity?
