Derry Girls season 2 now on Netflix
It’s a Friday and you know what that means, brand new Netflix Originals to dive into. There are quite a few new titles today and there are also quite a few removals to cover. Here’s what’s new on Netflix for August 2nd, 2019.
You may have missed it but yesterday saw the release of nearly 50 new titles with plenty of new movies and series to binge on.
Today sees eight new releases with all but one of the new titles carrying the Netflix Original banner. Here’s some highlights and then we’ll take a look at the full list.
Derry Girls (Season 2) Netflix Original

Derry Girls has turned into a huge hit with many comparing it to The Inbetweeners. The first season dropped on Netflix last year and has grown a huge audience.
The sitcom is set back in the 90s during the troubles in Northern Ireland. It’s hilarious but very short so be on the look out for season 3 in the near future.
Dear White People (Volume 3) Netflix Orignal
Genre: Comedy, Drama
Cast: Logan Browning, Brandon P Bell, DeRon Horton, Antoinette Robertson
Runtime: 30 min
Awards: 2 wins & 8 nominations.
Netflix’s adaptation of the cult classic Dear White People although not initially going down well has turned into one of the best sitcoms on Netflix. It’s smart and if you look beyond the title (most don’t) you’ll see there’s more than meets the eye.
This season sees a new professor come onto campus who shakes up the school campus.

Our Planet: Behind the Scenes (2019) Netflix Original
Genre: Documentary
Cast: David Attenborough
Runtime: 63 mins
The surprise addition today is the behind the scenes documentary that’s designed to accompany the docu-series that released earlier in the year.
The hour long documentary shows us the extremes the team behind the show had to go to acquire some of the shots of the series.
