The I-Land (Limited Series)

Genre: Adventure, Drama, Mystery, Sci-Fi
Cast: Kate Bosworth, Sibylla Deen, Kota Eberhardt, Gilles Geary

Netflix has relegated The I-Land to a Thursday release which is quite often when it puts outs smaller niche shows. In recent weeks, we’ve seen Another Life and Wu Assassin’s release on Thursday.

The limited series sees a group of people land on an island with limited to no recollection of how they go there. Our take on this one is to stick with it. The pilot for the series absolutely sucks and the main hook comes in at episode 3.

Many will compare the show to Lost and rightfully so as it follows a similar beat throughout.

The Mind, Explained (Limited Series)

Genre: Docuseries
Cast: Emma Stone

In a special limited series spin-off, you’ve got five episodes (that can be watched in any order) that cover in 20-minute segments everything to do with the human mind.

The series is narrated by Emma Stone who also appeared in the limited series Maniac which also focuses on the brain and mind.

Here’s the titles of the five episodes:

  • Memory
  • Dreams
  • Anxiety
  • Mindfulness
  • Psychedelics

This series is not the only explained series coming out this month either. Later in the month, we’ll be getting weekly episodes of the regular series that covers all manner of subjects.

Turbo (2013)

Genre: Animation, Adventure, Comedy, Family, Sci-Fi, Sport
Director: David Soren
Cast: Ryan Reynolds, Paul Giamatti, Michael Peña, Samuel L. Jackson
Runtime: 96 min

For the kids today is the return of Turbo, the animated adventure about the racing snails. It’s not the first time Netflix has carried Turbo with it appearing a few years back. Of course, Netflix also carries the Turbo FAST series that has multiple seasons streaming right now.
