The first title we’d like to refer your attention to is Sarah’s Key. The French title garnered fantastic reviews from critics when it first released back in 2010.

Set in Paris back in 1942 (during World War 2) it tells the story of a woman hiding a young boy at threat of being captured by the Germans.

It’s a tearjerker and a fantastic pickup for Netflix and if you enjoy movies like The Boy in the Striped Pajamas or Schindler’s list this is a great weekend flick.

Pre-warning though, there’s thematic material including disturbing situations involving the Holocaust.

Vagabond (Season 1 – Episodes 1 & 2)

Genre: Action, Romance, Thriller
Cast: João Aguiar
Language: Korean

If you’re into Korean series, the chances are Vagabond has been on your radar for quite some time. Well, this weekend is finally your chance to dive in.

Comparable to the likes of Bodyguard or Designated Survivor, it takes us on a winding journey after a plane crashes that claims 200 lives.

The series is releasing on Netflix on a weekly schedule as we’ve outlined here.

King of Boys (2018)

Genre: Drama, Nollywood, Political
Director: Kemi Adetiba
Cast: Sola Sobowale, Remilekun Reminisce Safaru, Adesua Etomi, Paul Sambo
Runtime: 169 min

We’re headed to Africa for this movie which comes out of Nollywood as one of the biggest releases in the region from last year.

Alhaja Eniola Salami is a businesswoman and philanthropist with high political ambitions but has a clouded past. She’ll do anything at whatever cost to get where she needs to be.

The movie is similar to the likes of House of Cards, Empire, Madam Secretary or even the likes of Breaking Bad.
