Happy Friday, Netflixers! From marching bands to serial killers, you have a lot of choices this weekend. Since this weekend also includes a new month, we have taken the liberty of picking a few highlights from August 1st for you to make browsing easier.

Below are my picks for the week. As with each list, I have seen them all and would personally recommend them.

Serenity (2005)

In this continuation of the cult favorite Firefly, a group of rebels travels the outskirts of space aboard their ship, Serenity, trying to outrun a sinister organization determined to find them.


The Dark Knight (2008)

Batman, Lt. Gordon, and the district attorney fight to dismantle Gotham’s criminal underground, but a malevolent villain threatens to undo their good work and take over the city. His prime objective: destroy The Bat.


Her (2013)

Joaquin Phoenix stars as a lonely writer fascinated with a new operating system which reportedly develops into an intuitive and unique entity in its own right. The more the machine learns about him, however, the closer he gets to it, eventually falling in love.


I Am A Killer Netflix Original

In this true-crime series, Netflix collaborates with A+E to and gets firsthand stories from some of history’s most notorious killers who recount their stories in death row interviews.
