You have a lot of great watching choices this weekend on Netflix!

Happy holiday weekend! A long weekend means more quality time with Netflix. You have a lot of great watching options ahead of you, too. There are two new exciting additions to Netflix this week, a weekly news show and a new talk show. The news show is Explained. Brought to you by Vox, each episode is a 15-minute look at a topic that “drives our lives or our world.” Three episodes are available now and a new episode will be released every Wednesday.

A new talk show is also on the schedule. Beginning Sunday, May 27th, The Break With Michelle Wolf arrives with 10 weekly episodes. Taped in front of a studio audience, it’s a blend of comedy and celebrity guests talking with Wolf about current events.

Below are my picks for the week. As with each list, I have seen them all and would personally recommend them. For your convenience, a full list of the titles added this week is at the end of this article. To keep up with additions be sure to follow our What’s New page, updated daily.

Steve Martin and Martin Short: An Evening You Will Forget for the Rest of Your Life Netflix Original

This special is a delight! It’s definitely nostalgic, but the banter, the skits, the music, everything about it is such a welcome throwback to the way comedy used to be. It has a wonderful vaudeville feel you’re going to love.

The Toys That Made Us: Season 2 Netflix Original

Speaking of nostalgia, this history show revisits some of the most iconic toy franchises in existence. From Star Trek to Legos, this show is a fun look at the toys we all love.

Riverdale: Season 2

This mystery show is based on the characters of Archie Comics. It follows the life of Archie Andrews in the small town of Riverdale and explores the darkness hidden behind its seemingly perfect image. It is very popular and very bingable.

Tig Notaro: Happy to Be Here Netflix Original

Tig Notaro is a wry observational humorist who has been through a lot. She brings those life experiences to the stage and always manages to deliver comedy that is profound. Add her to your watch list.

Bridge to Terabithia (2007)

A boy’s life is changed when he befriends the class outsider. Together they create an imaginary world called Terabithia where they rule as king and queen. Soon one of the friends must draw on the strength of their imaginary kingdom to cope with a tragedy. Watch this one with tissues.

Small Town Crime (2017)

This very underrated film stars John Hawkes as a disgraced ex-cop who stumbles across a dead body. When he decides to do a little detective work of his own he uncovers more than he bargained for.
