Happy Friday! You made it through another week. Netflix has plenty of great titles to keep you occupied this weekend.

Maniac Netflix Original

This new mind-bending series has an all-star cast and will keep you binging. It tells the stories of two strangers drawn to the late stages of a mysterious pharmaceutical trial, each for their own reasons. Throughout the process, they keep finding themselves drawn together, much to the dismay of the research team. This series had me hooked from the start. As they move through the process we see many different stories played out, sometimes not knowing what is real and what is not. The cast is phenomenal, including Jonah Hill, Emma Stone, Sally Field, Gabriel Byrne, and Justin Theroux, just to name a few. Definitely add this one to your queue.

Nappily Ever After Netflix Original

This film stars Sanaa Lathan as an uptight, compulsively perfect ad exec who must have everything just so-including her hair. But when her life begins to unravel, she goes on an inward journey that includes a drastic change to her hair and her outlook. She begins to learn about herself and what really living her life means. Lathan does a wonderful job in this sweet, authentic movie.

The Good Cop Netflix Original

Josh Groban stars as TJ, a brilliant, straight-laced NYPD detective who makes a point of always following the rules. His father (Tony Danza) is a disgraced ex-cop who never followed the rules. The “odd couple” become unofficial partners as Tony Sr. offers his overly-cautious son blunt, street-wise advice. It’s a light police procedural drama with dry humor and great binge potential. This is one enjoyable cop show you could watch with your parents.

D.L. Hughley: Contrarian Netflix Original

Comedian D.L. Hughley takes the stage in proper form in this new original special. Always sharp and brutally honest, he tackles the hypocrisy of racism in America, being a man during the #MeToo movement, why cell phones are ruining relationships, parents who don’t follow warning signs, and more. He keeps the jokes fast and steady, from topic to topic. The subjects aren’t quite as fresh as his usual sets, but it’s still a very good watch.

Quincy Netflix Original

This original documentary is an intimate look into the life of music icon Quincy Jones. Directed by his daughter Rashida Jones, this star-studded film seamlessly threads personal vérité moments with private archival footage to reveal a legendary life like no other. Netflix has partnered with The Smithsonian’s National Museum of African American History and Culture to screen Quincy at their inaugural film festival this October.
