New Releases on Netflix UK (13th May)

2016-05-13This week’s new Netflix Original is somewhat different from their previous offerings. Instead of releasing all the episodes in one go, “Chelsea”, a talk show hosted by Chelsea Handler, is having 3 new episodes added every week (every Wednesday, Thursday and Friday). This allows the producers to have up to date content on the talk show – something that wouldn’t be possible using Netflix’s normal release schedule. Up to date discussion is paramount for talk shows and it will be interesting to see how well this works on Netflix where viewers could be watching months, even years, after the event. If you’ve watched any of the first 3 episodes then we’d be interested in hearing your opinion.

The comedy “Bad Neighbours” arrived this week – although you’ll have to search for its American title and spelling “Neighbors” in order to find it! Shortly after Kelly and Mac settle down with their newborn baby, a college fraternity moves in next door. Things seem to be going well until the parties start and that’s when the new parents take things into their own hands… With hilarious pranks and an ongoing battle of the wits, who will win the war of the bad neighbours?

Nicolas Cage stars in “Raising Arizona”, which returned to Netflix UK this week. Cage is an ex-con who happens to be married to an ex-cop and when they learn that they can’t have children, they decide to take action. That action happens to be kidnapping one of a set of quadruplets. The plot thickens in this comedy as more and more people being hunting for the missing child – including the couple’s own friends add well as a motorbike-riding bounty hunter.

And, finally for this week we have Season 11 of “It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia” – which only finished airing in the USA 2 months ago. The show is set in Paddies Bar in Philadelphia and revolving around five somewhat depraved underachievers. It’s a difficult show to try and describe but it’s dark, witty and handles everyday challenges in the most extreme way!
