New Releases on Netflix UK (14th October 2016)

2016-10-14If you’re a fan of TV then you’ll be pleased with this week’s new additions on Netflix UK. First up we’ve been given season 5 of the hit US political thriller “Homeland”.

Anime sci-fi series “Kuromukuro” has had it’s second season added. The series is based around a young samurai working with a team of pilots and researchers who are trying to defend their research centre from the attacking machanoids.

Netflix have secured another deal to show US series on a weekly basis shortly after they air in the states on CW. The latest is “Frequency”, based on the 2000 movie of the same name. When a detective in 2016 realises that she can use her Ham radio to communicate with her father in 1996, they work together to solve the mystery of his death. Episode 1 is available now with new episodes coming every Thursday.

The latest Netflix Original comedy has now arrived in the form of “Mascots”. This mockumentary from Chris Shaw follows sports mascots from around America as they compete to become the next greatest mascot. It’s a bit ridiculous at times but you’ll soon see that the mascots can be more competitive than the teams they’re cheering on.

“Boys Don’t Cry” and “Cuban Fury” are also noteworthy additions this week.

And finally for this week is “David Blaine: What Is Magic?”. This short documentary, from 2010, follows the world famous magician around America as he shows off various tricks including catching a bullet in his teeth.
