As it’s the beginning of the month, there are so many new titles available to watch on Netflix UK this week. Hopefully, this can kickstart your summer watch list as there’s a total of 145 new titles added. This includes 97 new movies, 22 new TV series, 22 new documentaries and four new stand-up specials. We’re going to pick three of our favourite titles from this week and give you some information about it. We hope that you’re enjoying the sunny weather!
If you’re a shy person, you’ll know all about not fitting in. Sometimes it’s difficult to let others know how you feel or to even express yourself to those who are more confident than you. The Perks of Being a Wallflower is without a doubt one of the best movies ever made. It is based on the novel of the same name by Stephen Chbosky and is the story of Charlie and his growth while surrounded by his new friends. The film stars Logan Lerman (Percy Jackson) as Charlie, Emma Watson (Harry Potter – although, who doesn’t know who she is?) as Sam and Ezra Miller (Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them) as Patrick. It doesn’t seem possible that it was released back in 2012 (how time flies, eh?) but it is definitely a film to add to your list due to the incredible storyline and insightful characters.
Being a woman is hard. In fact, being a mother and a wife is hard too. When life gets you down and there’s no money left in the piggy bank, you know something needs to change. The new Netflix Original series Good Girls (2018) is all about the life of three mothers who are in desperate need of some cash. With that in mind, they plan a heist. They may have thought they had a handle on being criminals but these inexperienced women are dragged into something much deeper than they first thought. They must stick together in order to solve their problems but the way out seems further away than they expected.
We all know the story of the boy who lived and it’s one of those fairytales that we live over and over again. The story of Peter Pan is told through the family and I know that one day when I have kids I’ll be telling them all about him. Peter Pan (2003) was added to Netflix UK this week and it is certainly a film that many watch more than once. Perhaps you’re after some quality family time this evening or simply want to relive the adventures of Wendy and her brothers, either way, no matter what your age, it’s a great film to watch. For those of you who don’t know, this story is about a group of siblings who go to Neverland in order to escape their lives for something more exciting. However, things change when they meet others in the foreign land and from there the story blossoms. Everything comes full circle though, as you’d expect from this kind of story.
