The Innocents now on Netflix UK

We’re coming towards the end of August now and perhaps the end of the sunshine too. This week, 25th August 2018, Netflix UK welcomed a total of 37 new titles for us to stream. That includes 21 new movies, 10 new TV series, five new documentaries/docuseries and one new stand-up special. We’re going to recommend three titles out of the whole lot and let you into why we think they’re worth watching over the next week.

The new Netflix Original The Innocents is a supernatural series that follows two teenage lovers on their journey into a dangerous world. June and Harry have a lot to learn about themselves and when they find out something that changes their lives forever, it’s terrifying. Imagine finding out you have something you can’t control, something that makes you different from everyone else… Imagine what you might do. This show is a British drama that has you locked in, it’ll grip you from the very beginning and not let go until the very end. There’s currently one season available to watch on Netflix UK.

When growing up, having a sibling is both a very special thing and an annoyance. There’s usually a love-hate relationship and although you never agree on anything, you’re still there for one another. Take My Brother Away (2018) is a Netflix Original which is about two siblings who are growing up having to deal with the usual teenage dramas at school. Shi Miao and Shi Fen argue about everything and are in constant battle to be the best. However, Shi Miao doesn’t want to take any more from her brother and so she fights back without hesitation.

Relationships are a big commitment – you have to be confident that one person makes your life a happier and healthier place. However, for those that are not quite ready to be tied to one individual, relationships can become a little tricky. That Awkward Moment (2014) shows the lives of three grown men and their difficulty in holding down relationships. Jason, who is played by Zac Efron, expresses his difficulties when talking about the key moment when being involved with someone else – there’s always a time when the woman in his life wants more than a simple casual thing. The three men make a pact to have as much fun as possible while living free and single lives but they all end up realising that love outweighs the temporary.
