The Terminator is now available to stream on Netflix UK

First of all, here are the highlights from the past week.

The Terminator (1984)

It’s been 35 years since the release of The Terminator but its influence in modern cinema and pop culture can be felt today. Starring the beloved Arnold Schwarzenegger, his role as the infamous villain arguably is what shot his career into the stratosphere.

In the not too distant future humanity is on the brink of extinction. At war with the Cybernetic Skynet, humanity’s hope rests in the hands of Kyle Reese, the leader of the resistance. Reese is sent back in time to help protect his mother Sarah Connor and to pass on the information he has Skynet. Undeterred, Skynet sends a Terminator to find Reese and his mother to assassinate them.

Neon Genesis Evangelion (Season 1)

One of the biggest franchises in anime history has finally made its way to Netflix! Neon Genesis Evangelion first debuted in Japan in 1995 and went on to become on the most beloved anime of the era. The series continues to do incredible to this day with merchandise sales exceeding over $6 billion!

In the year 2015, the world is on the cusp of destruction after the ‘Second Impact’ brings a global cataclysm. The life Shinji Ikari changes forever as after he is summoned to Tokyo by his father. Shinji’s father Gendou is the head of Nerv, an organization that utilizes the mechas known as Evangelions to battle the invading alien force. Shinji is taken into the very depths of Nerv and is granted a new destiny as he pilots Evangelion Unit-01, with that fate of the world on his and Nerv shoulder’s they must unite together to save the Earth.

The Happytime Murders (2018)

If you ever wondered what Seaseme Street with an 18+ rating looks like, then look no further than The Happytime Murders! Brian Henson the son of the famous Jim Henson was in the director’s seat for this film. While it didn’t do great with the critics there’s still plenty to be enjoyed from the very first adult rated title from the Jim Henson Company.

When two celebrity puppets up from a tv show wind up dead, a former puppet Detective Phil Philips suspects that something is amiss and rejoins the LAPD, and becomes their consultant. Upon rejoining, Philips is partnered with his previous human, Connie Edwards. It’s a race against time to catch the killer before another cast member is murdered.
