What’s New on Netflix UK This Week: June 7th, 2019

Spider-Man: Homecoming is now available on Netflix UK

The start of the month brings us a large haul of new titles added to the Netflix UK library. We have some excellent additions this past week that will keep you entertained for hours, not to mention with all the content to look forward to in June, this is set to be an awesome month for Netflix UK. Here are all the latest additions for Netflix UK this past week.

First of all, here are the past week’s highlights:


Spider-Man: Homecoming (2017)

Despite Sony still having ownership of your friendly neighborhood Spider-Man, that didn’t stop Marvel/Disney from bringing him to the MCU. After a successful appearance in Captain America: Civil War the webbed wonder received his own film and was well received by critics and fans alike. While it has felt like the story of Spider-Man has been told countless times Tom Holland’s take on Peter Parker has helped keeping the character feel fresh.

After the events of the first Avengers, Adrian Toomes, and his salvage company are tasked with cleaning up the city of New York. But when the government (in partnership with Tony Stark) takes over their operation, Toomes furious at losing his business steals some of the alien technology from the salvage. Years later and Peter Parker now the Spider-Man has been taken under the wing of Tony Stark but still continues to juggle his school life and being a vigilante. After a confrontation with the Adrian Toomes now known as the Vulture, Peter takes it upon himself to try and bring down the high-tech winged villain.


Despicable Me 3 (2017)

Illumination has done a fantastic job with the Despicable Me franchise since it’s inception in 2011. Now onto the third title in the trilogy of films Despicable Me is still going strong and beloved by audiences young and old. Overall the franchise has made over $3 billion at the box office and that doesn’t look to stop anytime soon with Minions: The Rise of Gru arriving in 2020. In this adventure Gru, his family and the minions must stop an outdated 80’s child actor Balthazar Bratt from stealing the giant Pink diamond. Oh, yeah and Gru discovers he has a long lost twin brother who wishes to learn how to become a villain.


Designated Survivor (Season 3) Netflix Original

After being canceled by ABC there was a call to arms by fans across the world for Netflix to pick up Designated Survivor. Thankfully the streaming service came to the rescue and now at your pleasure you can binge the third season of Designated Survivor to your heart’s content. This season will see one of President Kirkman’s biggest challenges yet as he goes on the campaign trail to ensure his place as President of the United States.
