What’s New on Netflix: January 4th, 2019

The Addams Family now on Netflix

Hello and welcome to your Friday’s edition of what’s new on Netflix. Usually on Fridays, we get a healthy dose of new Netflix Original content but today is slightly different. Here’s a look at the highlights.

Over the holidays, Netflix has scattered their releases fairly evenly. We’ve seen Netflix Original content dropped on the first, on Christmas day and multiple other days when typically things are quiet.

The Addams Family (1991)

This is an Oscar-nominated cult classic. Yes, Halloween has been and gone but frankly, this is a year round movie and is to be enjoyed by all the family.

Long time Netflix users will know this isn’t the first time that Netflix has been streaming The Addams Family but it’s a welcome return. Why the re-addition? It could be early promotion for the upcoming animated movie coming in cinemas later this year.

And Breathe Normally

This independent Icelandic flick scored multiple nominations and wins at various European movie festivals and early audiences scores seem to suggest this movie is going to be a hidden gem on the Netflix library.

The movie is about two women and how their lives intersect as one is an asylum seeker and a struggling mother.

QB1: Beyond the Lights (Season 2)

Netflix already has a football documentary series in the form of Last Chance U but if you’re looking for even more, give this show a try.

Season 1 has been streaming for a while with season 2 dropping today. It follows three high school quarterbacks looking to move onto Division 1 college football.
