The Monster now on Netflix

Looking for more movies like Bird Box? Netflix just added a new movie today which will probably be up your street. Here’s a look at all the new titles that have arrived onto Netflix for January 6th, 2019.

There was technically only one title added today with the other two either being either a late addition or re-addition.

Let’s take a look at what’s new on Netflix today.

The Monster (2016)

Genre: Horror

Bird Box broke all records for Netflix in 2018 and is now the most successful movie of all time for the streaming service. It’s apt that Netflix managed to pick up The Monster for streaming today.

The movie is written and directed by Bryan Bertino and is about a mother and her daughter confronting a monster that’s chasing them down after breaking down on a remote road.

It didn’t score overly well with critics (neither did Bird Box) but is still a good watch particularly if you want to watch a monster movie and actually see the monster.

Heartland (Seasons 1 to 3)

This isn’t so much as a new addition as these three seasons left Netflix several days ago much to the disgust of fans of the show.

Thankfully, Netflix managed to get the first three seasons of the show back around the world today.

In the US, Netflix currently has 10 seasons with the next expected to come over the summer.

If this is your first introduction to the show, it’s an absolute must-watch. It comes from Canada and is a family drama about a family living on a ranch going through tough circumstances.

Quartet (2012)

This title most trackers, including us, missed when it actually released on Netflix last year but we thought we’d give it a mention today.

The golden globe nominated movie stars Maggie Smith, Michael Gambon, Billy Connolly, and Pauline Collins. The comedy is about a quartet of retired musicians who are planning an annual concert but gets rudely interrupted.
