Solo now on Netflix in the US & Canada
It’s time to recap all the daily additions to Netflix for Wednesday, January 9th, 2019. Today brings with it several new additions including the first Disney movie of the year in the form of the latest Star Wars movie. Here’s your full look at what’s new today.
The United States only got two new additions today but they’re big movie releases. Elsewhere, Netflix scored an international distribution deal bringing new episodes of a hit NBC competition show each week from now on.
Here’s a look at what’s new on Netflix for January 9th, 2019:
Solo: A Star Wars Story (2018)
Only for those in the United States and Canada
Both Canada and the United States got their first Disney movie the year soon to be followed by Ant-man coming in the next few weeks. This is the final Star Wars movie coming for those in the US with Canada expected to get episode 9 next year.
This is the second spinoff movie in the Star Wars universe and takes us back to the origin story of Han Solo including how he came to meet Lando and Chewbacca.
For Canadians, you’ll also find a French version of the movie available to stream and those in the United States will have a special Spanish version too.
Godzilla: The Planet Eater (2018) Netflix Original
This new anime movie is based around the same Godzilla we’ve seen in the anime series that has arrived exclusively on Netflix over recent years. This standalone movie is an hour and a half of pure Godzilla action.
The movie brings us a new enemy in the form of a destructive entity known as Ghidorah and it’s down to the humans, Godzilla, and some alien allies to defeat it.
America’s Got Talent: The Champions (Season 1 – Episode 1)
Only for those outside of the United States
For some outside of the United States including the United Kingdom, you’ll now be getting weekly episodes of the brand new season of America’s Got Talent. Dubbed, The Champions, this series brings back some old acts throughout the years to go up against each other. It also features the introduction of the new judge, Terry Crews.
Episode 1 is streaming now with new episodes airing on NBC on Monday’s before dropping on Netflix the following morning.
