Formula 1: Drive to Survive is now on Netflix
Welcome to your Friday’s roundup of all the new Netflix releases for March 8th, 2019. There’s a lot of new Netflix Originals to cover today including new releases like Ricky Gervais’s After Life, The Jane Austen Book Club and some other goodies too.
Today brings 18 new titles to the service including a wide range of different titles.
Blue Jasmine (2013)

Director: Woody Allen
Cast: Cate Blanchett, Joy Carlin, Richard Conti, Glen Caspillo
Runtime: 98 min
This emotional traumatic Woody Allen flick scored an Oscar back in 2013. It’s about a New Yorker who flies to San Francisco to see her sister who is in a full-breakdown.
Many referred to this movie as Woody Allen’s big redemption movie after a string of poor movies in the 2000s.
After Life (Season 1) Netflix Original
Genre: Comedy
Cast: Ricky Gervais, Tom Basden, David Bradley, Roisin Conaty
Ricky Gervais is known for three things, his stand-up, his sitcoms and teasing Karl Pilkington. Netflix has already picked up a stand-up special and now it’s the turn of sitcom.
This series sees Ricky’s characters life upside down after the sudden passing of his partner. He now has to power on and find a new meaning in life.
We managed to see After Life a little earlier this week and our verdict is that this is very much some of Ricky’s best work.
Champions (Season 1)
Genre: Comedy
Cast: Anders Holm, Fortune Feimster, Andy Favreau, Josie Totah
Champions released on Netflix worldwide as an Original except in the United States so it’s nice to see if finally added, however, any binges will be short-lived as the series was never picked up for a second series.
The NBC comedy which is made by Charlie Grandy and Mindy Kaling is about a gym owner and his brother who live their simple lives of dating and working out. That’s upended when a teenage boy lands on their doorstep.
