Call the Midwife season 8 is now on Netflix
Welcome to your look at what’s new on Netflix for May 15th in the United States which includes 13 brand new titles. Here are the highlights of the new additions as well as the full list below that.
Traditionally, the 15th of the month always brings some additional goodies to Netflix but today is fairly quiet with the bulk of the additions coming from India.
There’s still plenty to look forward to this week with White Gold, The Rain, The Blackcoat’s Daughter and a new episode of Patriot Act.

Call the Midwife (Season 8)

Runtime: 60 min
The BBC/PBS series Call the Midwife is back on Netflix slightly earlier than we expected with new seasons traditionally releasing in September. The new season sees two new nuns arrive at the hospital for this season.
The period drama transports us back to the 1950s and 1960s and is about the lives of midwives working during the post World War 2 baby boom.
Only the United States got Call the Midwife today with other regions coming later.
Backdraft 2 (2019)
Genre: Action, Crime, Drama
Director: Gonzalo López-Gallego
Cast: Donald Sutherland, William Baldwin, Joe Anderson, Alastair Mackenzie
This 2019 direct to video sequel of the 1991 title sees a fireman track down a notorious criminal using fire to distract from his other illicit activities. Backdraft 2 will be making its debut on Netflix which will serve as the exclusive streaming home although it isn’t being carried as a Netflix Original.
Reviews so far haven’t been great but the appearance of Donald Sutherland alone should make this a good watch.

All the Devil’s Men (2018)

Cast: Sylvia Hoeks, William Fichtner, Elliot Cowan, Milo Gibson
Runtime: 99 min
With multiple huge Hollywood stars coming together in an action thriller, you’d have thought the movie would’ve been a home run right? Well, not quite. This movie which released in cinemas last December didn’t quite get the critical reception of fan reception it was after.
The movie is about a soldier turned bounty hunter heading to London to take down an ex-CIA operative.
Dennis and Gnasher Unleashed (Season 1)
Genre: Animation
Cast: Freddie Fox, Kelly Marie Stewart, Kathryn Drysdale, Ryan Sampson
Looking for something new for the kids today? Dennis and Gnasher’s adventures in this TV series could be it. The two characters come from a classic British comic book series called the Beano. It’s about a mischievous group of kids that create crazy plans taking on big challenges.
