What’s New on Netflix: May 1st, 2019

It’s May already!? 2019 is going at an absolutely blistering pace and with each passing day comes even more titles on Netflix. With the first of the month always of least bringing a handful of brand new titles to be enjoyed. We’ll still be reporting on what’s new this past on Netflix for Friday, but for now here are all the latest titles on Netflix for May 1st, 2019.

First of all, here are today’s highlights from May 1st, 2019:

Austin Powers: International Man of Mystery (1997)

While Mike Myers break out role was as Wayne Campbell in Wayne’s World, the comedian’s role as Austin Powers shot his popularity even further into the stratosphere. Portraying both Austin Powers and the titular villain Doctor Evil, Mike Myers solidified the pair as some of the most memorable roles of his career. The film brought in a respectable amount at the box office with $67.7 million on a budget of $16.5 million. Spawning two more films for the franchise which did considerably better at the box office grossing a total over $600 million between the trilogy.

Austin Powers the 60s British Super Spy is cryogenically frozen to await the inevitable return of his arch-nemesis Dr. Evil. Awakening 30 years later, Austin must learn to adapt to the new world of technology and thwart Dr. Evil from destroying the world.

The Final Destination (2009)

One thing is for certain, the Final Destination franchise spawned a fear of trucks loaded with timber, don’t mess with Pidgeons and you can die at any given moment. While not the best film of the five, The Final Destination was the first title to introduce 3-D to the franchise. It was likely the cost of a 3-D ticket that made The Final Destination the highest grossing film of the franchise.

Disaster strikes the Mckinley Speedway killing nearly dozens of people present. When Nick has a premonition of the disaster happening, and by causing a scene himself and some of his friends survive being killed by the collapsing stands. Having escaped death, a series of grim and obscure accidents occur killing off the survivors one by one.
