Insidious is now on Netflix

Welcome to your daily look at what’s new on Netflix May 9th, 2019. Today, we’ve got a new horror movie, a new documentary and a few new international additions make up the bulk of the new content added.

You probably didn’t miss it but yesterday saw the release of the new season of Lucifer. The likelihood is, however, that you’ve already blown through all 10 episodes.

Insidious (2010)

Cast: Patrick Wilson, Rose Byrne, Ty Simpkins, Lin Shaye
Runtime: 103 min

This isn’t Insidious’s first appearance on Netflix but it’s a welcome return. Netflix is home to some fantastic horror movies at the moment and this 2010 hit will feel right at home.

The movie is about a family that’s trying to stop an evil spirit from capturing their son. The movie was a box office smash with only Paranormal Activity really outshining it.


Bathtubs Over Broadway (2018)

Genre: Documentary, Comedy
Director: Dava Whisenant
Cast: David Letterman, Martin Short, Chita Rivera, Susan Stroman
Runtime: 87 min

This multi-award winning documentary takes a look at the sides of musicals that weren’t supposed to watched or ever found. You’ll be joining a comedy writer for David Letterman as he finds out about the hidden world of commercial musicals.

It won the best documentary at the WGA Awards and the director was even awarded best documentary director at the Tribeca Film Festival.
