Over the last several years, Netflix India has built a deep collection of thrilling crime dramas. Their latest series — Musafir Cafe (“Traveler Cafe“) — represents a pivot to a new, lighter direction. Netflix India Series Head Tanya Bami says, “Musafir Cafe, our next offering is a step deeper towards building out the much needed yet lesser explored romance genre. It’s just the kind of comfort watching that leaves you happy, satisfied and a lingering warm feeling, like a cup of tea on a rainy day.“
This change in genre comes with a change of scenery as well. Unlike the dark forests of Aranyak or the stark rural backdrop of Kohrra, Musafir Cafe takes place in more picturesque locales, with romantic lake views in Bhopal and soaring mountain vistas in the popular honeymoon destination of Mussoorie.
Musafir Cafe is created and written by Sharanya Rajgopal (Jab We Matched) based on the novel of the same name by Divya Prakash Dubey. Ruchir Arun (Little Things) directs the series for producers Terribly Tiny Tales (TTT) and Homemade Stories.
What is the plot of Musafir Cafe?

At the heart of the story is Chander Mohan Sharma (Vikrant Massey), a man whose carefully mapped future is upended when he meets Sudha (Vedika Pinto), a fiercely independent divorce lawyer who inspires him to embrace uncertainty, dream bigger and love without fear. But life, much like love, is rarely linear. As Chander’s journey unfolds, he crosses paths with Preeti (Mahima Makwana), whose quiet strength and unwavering belief in him offer a different kind of love. Through relationships that arrive at different moments, Musafir Cafe explores how the people we love shape the people we become.
Who is cast in Musafir Cafe?
Vikrant Massey (Haseen Dillruba) stars as Chander, the pivotal figure in the story. Musafir Cafe is Massey’s sixth Netflix Original project and his first series for the streamer, earning him a spot on our list of Netflix India’s most frequent stars.
Vedika Pinto (Gumraah) plays Sudha, Chander’s first love.
Mahima Makwana (Antim: The Final Truth) plays Preeti, Chander’s second love.
