Spring has officially sprung, and Netflix’s film slate is heating up right alongside the weather. From highly anticipated action blockbusters like Extraction 3 to fresh reboots and star-studded dramas, the streamer is currently rolling cameras on a massive wave of new Original movies all over the globe. We’re tracking everything happening behind the scenes to keep you updated on when your next favorite film will finally call “action.”
This is the second part of our Netflix filming guide. In case you missed it, we published our what’s filming guide for TV series a few weeks back. As we covered in that post, all of the below is a rough guide based on production grids and available information, and is highly subject to change.
Netflix Movies In Production Or Going Into Production Soon
- 13 Going on 30 – Netflix’s big reboot and “reimagining” of the classic movie with Jennifer Garner is gearing up for a production start on June 23rd and will run through mid-August, with Los Angeles being its filming home. Emily Bader and Logan Lerman to headline with Brett Haley directing.
- 2034 – Rian Johnson is producing this new AI thriller, with Rachel McAdams set to headline. It’s eyeing a shoot across multiple countries in Eastern Europe, including stop-offs in Belgrade, Serbia, and Montenegro.
- An Innocent Girl – In production since late March, this new thriller with Kerry Washington and James Marsden is filming in New Jersey through early June 2026.
- Extraction 3 – After being announced several years ago, production will finally begin rolling on the third installment of the Chris Hemsworth series, beginning in June and running through October, with Sydney, Australia, being used as the backdrop.
- Gundam – Recently confirmed with its full cast, production is now ongoing for Netflix’s anime adaptation, with filming taking place between Sydney, Australia, and the UK under the working title Teardrop.
- Hannibal – Featuring Denzel Washington and directed by Antoine Fuqua, this highly anticipated movie is set to film from late June through early October in Rome, Italy.
- One Attempt Remaining – Starring Jennifer Garner, John Cena, and Kate McKinnon, this has now been filming since mid-February and will wrap by late April 2026. Filming in Los Angeles and Domincan Republic.
- Time Out – In production since late March, this new ensemble film is splitting its time between Vancouver and San Francisco, with Adam Sandler and Willem Dafoe amongst the cast. Planned wrap for May 30th.
- The 99’ers – Production on this new movie with Zoey Deutch and Emily Bader got underway in early April and will wrap up at the end of May 2026. It’s filming in New Jersey.
- The Big Fix – Mark Wahlberg and Riz Ahmed have been filming this new Chernin movie for Netflix since late April, with a planned wrap in late July. Filming in Australia and Malaysia.
- The Cackling of the Dodos – Announced a little earlier this year, this Jason Bateman-directed mystery thriller is eying a shoot in New Jersey beginning June 1st and will run through mid-July. Starring Woody Harrelson and Sam Rockwell.
- Twist of Fate – Harry Bradbeer’s next movie for Netflix will be split between the UK and France, with a June 2026 start eyed. “Chosen to die to save millions, Andrew lives his dream life with the woman he loves — until she makes him question his fate.”
- Yeti – Filming in Budapest, Hungary, this survival thriller from Michael Chaves will star Chris Pine. Set to wrap in early May 2026.
- Untitled Luther Sequel – Idris Elba is back on the case with a sequel to the Netflix movie and BBC series in production in London since February, with a planned wrap for May 2026.
There’s also another movie we can’t talk about yet, set to start production in June 2026 in Belfast. More on that when we’re allowed to post.
We should also mention that Millie Bobby Brown’s movie Perfect was due to start filming in June and run through July, but as you may have heard, that project has been canceled.
Netflix Movies Recently Wrapped
- A Christmas Kind of Love – JoAnna Garcia Swisher is heading up this new holiday film, which was shot in Louisiana from early March through mid-April.
- Don’t Ever Wonder (The Hang Suite) with Nia Long, which wrapped in New Jersey in February.
- Eloise – Shooting from November last year through April in London and New York, this new adaptation of the kids’ book features Mae Schenk and Ryan Reynolds.
- Guarding Stars – Leighton Meester and Jared Padalecki are headlining this holiday romance comedy.
- Here Comes the Flood – Confirmed for a 2026 release, production wrapped up on this new movie in late January.
- In a Holidaze – Filming wrapped on this holiday movie with Maddie Ziegler and Rob Lowe in March after a three-month shoot in Vancouver and Whistler in Canada.
- Protecting Jared – Filming in Hawaii, this action comedy is headlined by Jason Momoa and Andy Samberg. Filming wrapped in late April.
- The Boy in the Iron Box – Produced by Guillermo del Toro, this new horror wrapped up filming in Canada in mid-January.
- The Fifth Wheel – Kim Kardashian, Nikki Glaser, and Brenda Song are amongst the ensemble for this new comedy, with Eva Longoria directing. It split its time between Los Angeles and Las Vegas, with filming taking three months between January and March 2026.
- Tygo – A South Korean spin-off for Extraction that shot between October and mid-February.
- Walk the Blue Fields – Emily Blunt, Andrew Scott, and Tom Cullen lead the cast for this adaptation, with Joe Crowley directing. Filming took place in Ireland, with it wrapping in mid-April.
