Best New Shows and Movies Coming to Netflix This Week

Little House on the Prairie (Season 1)

Coming to Netflix: Thursday

Get ready to head back to the frontier. In what is easily one of Netflix’s biggest original series swings of the summer, this brand-new, big-budget adaptation of Laura Ingalls Wilder’s timeless books finally makes its debut. Promising a fresh, gritty, and deeply emotional take on the triumphs and devastating hardships of American pioneers, this series is primed to be a massive family-viewing event. Whether you grew up with the books, the iconic 1970s television show, or are entirely new to the Ingalls family, clear your Thursday for a binge-watch. Check out our full preview of the new series right here.

Hamnet (2025)

Coming to Netflix: Monday

Fresh off its acclaimed theatrical and festival run last year, Chloé Zhao’s sweeping historical drama makes its SVOD streaming debut on Netflix this week. Based on Maggie O’Farrell’s bestselling novel, the film beautifully captures William Shakespeare and his wife, Agnes, as they navigate the devastating, tragic loss of their only son, Hamnet, in 1580s England—an event that would ultimately inspire one of the greatest plays ever written. Brilliantly directed and featuring powerhouse performances, you can find all the release details for this must-watch drama here.

The Tick: The Complete Series

Coming to Netflix: Wednesday

Spoon! If you’re looking for a heavy dose of nostalgia, Netflix has you covered this week. The beloved, short-lived 2001 live-action superhero comedy is hitting the platform in its entirety. Starring Patrick Warburton in the pitch-perfect role of the big, blue, and blissfully ignorant hero, this cult classic series spoofed the comic book genre long before superhero fatigue was even a concept. It’s hilarious, weird, and absolutely worth revisiting (or watching for the first time). Don’t forget, too, that the Prime Video iteration is also headed to Netflix next week.
