Netflix in the United Kingdom will be getting weekly episodes of the brand new season of America’s Got Talent dubbed as “The Champions” from January 9th onwards. Here’s what you need to know about the new season and why other Netflix regions aren’t getting weekly episodes.

This new series is a great introduction to America’s Got Talent if you have never seen it before. It’s set to consist of seven episodes and features past winners and past contestants from the US show and many from international shows.

One of the contestants the Brits will be all too familiar with is Susan Boyle, who was featured on the first episode.

Judging the champions series this year are Simon Cowell, Mel B, Heidi Klum, and Howie Mandel with Terry Crews taking over the role as host.

How many episodes will The Champions have?

Currently, there are expected to be seven episodes throughout the course of Season 1. Each is going to be around an hour and 20 minutes so there’s plenty of watching to be had. Also Netflixers, unlike those watching in the US, won’t have to endure 40 minutes of advertisements.

This isn’t the first season of America’s Got Talent to come to Netflix in the UK. Last year, Netflix scooped up the rights for the first time.

When do new episodes of The Champions come to Netflix in the UK?

New episodes seem to come to Netflix two days after they air in the United States.

Here’s the currently expected Netflix release schedule for America’s Got Talent: The Champions Season 1 on Netflix.

Episode Number NBC Release Date Netflix Release Date
Episode 01 January 7th January 9th
Episode 02 January 14th January 16th
Episode 03 January 21st January 23rd
Episode 04 January 28th January 30th
Episode 05 February 4th February 6th
Episode 06 February 11th February 13th
Episode 07 February 18th February 20th

Will there be another regular season in the summer?

Season 19 of the main show is set to return soon, although a date has yet to be announced. The only news announced so far about the forthcoming series is that Tyra Banks will not be returning as a judge.

Last year, the season aired in June so it’d be a fair estimate to say that we should see the next season by the end of 2019.

Stay tuned. We’ll do a separate post for the Netflix release schedule once we learn more.
