Most Anticipated Netflix Movies March 2026

It’s been a while since we last covered what’s getting the most heat amongst Netflix’s upcoming slate of movies and series. In what we’ll be updating monthly, this movie list will use IMDb’s MovieMETER on IMDb Pro to look at what’s generating the most traffic and interest from Netflix’s upcoming titles. We’ll split the article up into two sections: the most anticipated upcoming movies and the most anticipated upcoming series.

Note: IMDb’s MovieMeter updates every single Tuesday, and given that traffic can eb and flow based on a bunch of factors, it’s just a reflection of the title’s popularity for that week.

1. The Adventures of Cliff Booth

The Continuing Adventures Of Cliff Booth

Once Upon a Time… in Hollywood – Picture: Sony Pictures

What it is & Who’s in it: We’ve been tracking this massive get for Netflix for a while now. Directed by David Fincher and penned by Quentin Tarantino (reteaming after years of near misses), this is a major blockbuster spin-off of Once Upon a Time in Hollywood. Brad Pitt is back, starring as the iconic stuntman Cliff Booth, produced via his Plan B Entertainment banner.

The Latest and Why It’s Highly Anticipated: Following its surprise trailer drop during the Super Bowl, rumors have swirled about the movie and its expected Summer release. Deadline published a post that included (and quickly scrubbed) an August 2026 premiere. Expecting a big blowout soon of new information and lots of new cast members, we hear.

2. Narnia: The Magician’s Nephew

Narnia One Year Out Fan Reaction

What it is & Who’s in it: The crown jewel of Netflix’s upcoming movie slate. Academy Award nominee Greta Gerwig (BarbieLittle Women) is writing and directing this massive adaptation expected to cover The Magician’s Nephew. While Netflix has been incredibly secretive, industry reports point to a stacked cast including Emma Mackey as Jadis (The White Witch), Daniel Craig as Uncle Andrew, Carey Mulligan as Mabel Kirke, and rumors of Meryl Streep voicing Aslan. Bypassing The Lion, The Witch and the Wardrobe, Gerwig is exploring the very origins of the Narnian universe, following two children, Digory and Polly, who are transported across worlds and witness the birth of the magical realm.

The Latest and Why It’s Highly Anticipated: Production wrapped at the beginning of the year, and let’s be honest, there’s not much that needs to be added here about why it’s so anticipated.

3. Thrash

Thrash First Looks Netflix (1)

What it is & Who’s in it: If you love high-concept creature features, this one needs to be on your radar. Coming from Adam McKay’s Hyperobject Industries and directed by Tommy Wirkola (the madman behind Dead Snow and Violent Night), this survival horror flick stars Phoebe Dynevor, Whitney Peak, and Djimon Hounsou. The premise follows what happens when a catastrophic Category 5 hurricane decimates a coastal community, the survivors don’t just have to deal with torrential rain, flooding, and collapsing infrastructure—the storm surge brings in a relentless wave of hungry, deadly sharks.

The Latest and Why It’s Highly Anticipated: Acquired by Netflix only recently, we got the big blowout of information not too long before the movie is hitting our screens in April 2026.

4. Remarkably Bright Creatures

What it is & Who’s in it: Netflix scooped up the rights to Shelby Van Pelt’s massive bestseller, and it’s shaping up to be a major prestige drama. Directed by Olivia Newman, the script comes from Newman, John Whittington, and Van Pelt herself. The story centers on Tova Sullivan, a widow who begins working the night shift at a local aquarium. There, she forms an unlikely, life-changing connection with a giant Pacific octopus who helps her unravel the decades-old mystery of her son’s disappearance. It’s got all the makings of a major tearjerker.

The Latest and Why It’s Highly Anticipated: All of the pre-release assets for this title are nearly out in the open at this point, and Sally Field’s star power is now, without a doubt, getting most people interested ahead of its release on May 8th.

5. Apex

Apex 20250306 08531 R2

What it is & Who’s in it: If you love a good high-octane Netflix action-thriller, this Chernin Entertainment production should be high on your list. Directed by Baltasar Kormákur and written by Jeremy Robbins, this promises to be a brutal survival flick. Kept largely under wraps, we know this is a tense, wilderness-set action thriller that will see its protagonist pushed to their absolute physical and psychological limits. Expect a heavy emphasis on practical effects and grueling location shoots.

The Latest and Why It’s Highly Anticipated: The movie is set to premiere in late April and is no doubt the biggest movie release of the month. Charlize Theron is bankable for Netflix, having starred in The Old Guard, and Taron Egerton appeared in one of Netflix’s most-watched movies ever, so we’ve got no doubt this will be pulling similar numbers to War Machine or The Rip from earlier this year.

6. Roommates

Roommates Netflix Movie First Look

ROOMMATES. (L to R) Nick Kroll as Brian, Natasha Lyonne as Hannah, Aidan Langford as Alex and Sadie Sandler as Devon on the set of Roommates. Cr. Scott Yamano/Netflix © 2026.

What it is & Who’s in it: Happy Madison Productions is back at it with Netflix. This upcoming comedy is directed by Chandler Levack, with a script from Jimmy Fowlie and Ceara O’Sullivan. We’re expecting a classic, raunchy-but-heartfelt college comedy. The story will track the chaotic, passive-aggressive, and ultimately hilarious breakdown of a dorm room living situation between two very incompatible freshmen.

The Latest and Why It’s Highly Anticipated: We got a big assets drop for this one just recently, which no doubt boosts its profile ahead of its April 17th debut. Bailey Maddison, amongst other main stars, is driving awareness. Of course, this is one of two Sandler-daughter movies coming to Netflix in 2026 – which one will come out on top?

7. Enola Holmes 3

Enola Holmes 3 First Look Image

What it is & Who’s in it: The game is afoot—again! Millie Bobby Brown’s hit franchise returns. Philip Barantini takes over directing duties this time around, working from a script by Jack Thorne and Nancy Springer (who wrote the original book series). Enola Holmes is back on the case in London and Malta with Enola tackling a brand new, high-stakes mystery that will force her to outsmart Scotland Yard and, naturally, her famous older brother.

The Latest and Why It’s Highly Anticipated: Three words: Millie Bobby Brown. Viewership held super strong for the second movie, and we suspect, given the wait and the popularity, that Stranger Things 5 will be another comfortable winner.

8. Here Comes the Flood

Filming Here Comes The Flood Netflix

What it is & Who’s in it: This is a huge genre play from Genre Films. We’ve got Fernando Meirelles (City of God) directing a script written by Simon Kinberg. This crime-drama-romance hybrid is one of the more ambitious projects on the upcoming slate. Described as an elevated, character-driven heist movie, the narrative unfolds against the chaotic backdrop of a massive, catastrophic flood. It’s a race against time and nature as the crew tries to pull off the ultimate score.

The Latest and Why It’s Highly Anticipated: Filming wrapped relatively recently, and no doubt thanks to its absolutely blockbuster cast, this one appears at the top of the lists of most of the actors in it.

9. BTS: The Return

Bts Live Jimmy Kimmel

What it is & Who’s in it: The ARMY is going to break the Netflix servers for this one. Directed by Bao Nguyen and produced by BIGHIT MUSIC, this documentary tracks the highly anticipated reunion of the global K-pop phenomenon. The doc provides a behind-the-scenes look at RM, Jin, SUGA, j-hope, Jimin, V, and Jung Kook as they reconvene post-military service. It chronicles their emotional reunion, the creative process for their new music, and the massive preparation for their comeback.

The Latest and Why It’s Highly Anticipated: Thanks to the live concert and plenty of social buzz and relatively soon release date, that’s no doubt why this is high up the charts.

10. Extraction 3

Every Extraction Title Coming Soon To Netflix

What it is & Who’s in it: Tyler Rake isn’t done yet. AGBO is bringing back the most successful action franchise in Netflix history. Sam Hargrave returns to direct, with Joe Russo penning the script. We fully expect Chris Hemsworth back in the tactical gear. No official synopsis yet but following the insane prison break of the second film, we expect Tyler Rake is drawn into yet another seemingly impossible, hyper-lethal extraction mission.

The Latest and Why It’s Highly Anticipated: This is zooming up the charts, perhaps, in part, due to our reporting that filming is scheduled to start this summer and no doubt buoyed by the fact that the Extraction universe is expanding with an additional two spin-offs.
