We’re at the midpoint of July and welcome back to your weekly look ahead at what’s coming to Netflix US over the next seven days! As we cruise into the middle of the month, it’s a pretty busy and varied week on the new releases front. Between a beloved YA romance getting a feature-length special, a massive blockbuster dystopian franchise dropping in its entirety, and Will Ferrell teeing off in a brand-new comedy series, there’s a lot to be excited about.
Here is a breakdown of everything coming to Netflix between July 13th and July 19th, 2026, including three expanded highlights you definitely won’t want to miss.
Best New Shows and Movies Coming to Netflix This Week
Heartstopper Forever (2026)
Coming to Netflix: Friday
Grab your tissues, because Nick and Charlie are back. Kit Connor and Joe Locke reprise their star-making roles in this bittersweet, feature-length romance special written by creator Alice Oseman. As Nick prepares to leave for university, the couple must confront the daunting reality of a long-distance relationship. Meanwhile, their beloved circle of friends is forced to navigate their own emotional hurdles as they step into adulthood. Directed by Wash Westmoreland, this special event promises to be a beautiful, tear-jerking milestone for the Heartstopper franchise.
Don’t forget that while Forever is the main highlight, Netflix has a lot more planned over the next week with an official podcast and also a documentary coming up.
The Hawk (Season 1)
Coming to Netflix: Thursday
Will Ferrell brings his signature comedic chops to the golf course in this brand-new original series. Ferrell stars as Lonnie “The Hawk” Hawkins, an aging former number-one golfer who flat-out refuses to retire, much to the chagrin of his family and despite his rapidly failing body. Desperate to prove he still has the magic touch, Lonnie embarks on a chaotic, hilarious journey to win one final major championship, complete a historic Grand Slam, and stage the ultimate comeback against his toughest rival: his own prodigy son.
The Hunger Games Franchise
Coming to Netflix: Tuesday
May the odds be ever in your binge-watching favor! Whether you want to revisit Katniss Everdeen’s iconic revolution or check out the recent prequel for the first time, Netflix is dropping the ultimate Hunger Games collection this week. The drop includes all four original Jennifer Lawrence-led blockbusters—The Hunger Games, Catching Fire, and both Mockingjay installments—alongside the SVOD debut of the 2023 prequel hit, The Ballad of Songbirds & Snakes starring Tom Blyth and Rachel Zegler. Watch fast, though, as we suspect these won’t be licensed to Netflix for every long.
