July 2026 is officially Heartstopper month. If the upcoming finale movie wasn’t enough, Netflix has just unveiled a jam-packed “Heartstopper Summer” timeline, capped off by a newly announced behind-the-scenes documentary, Heartstopper: Ending on a Hi.

It’s hard to believe we’re finally nearing the end of Nick and Charlie’s on-screen journey. As we previously reported, the highly anticipated feature-length finale, Heartstopper Forever, is set to drop on Netflix globally on July 17th. We’ve also already been treated to stunning first looks and the official runtime, but it turns out Netflix and creator Alice Oseman have a lot more up their sleeves for fans to celebrate the beloved franchise.

Today, an official “Heartstopper Summer” calendar was released, outlining a massive two weeks of content drops, premieres, and releases. Since Volume 6 of the graphic novel already kicked things off on July 2nd, the daily drops are about to begin.

Here is the full timeline of what to expect over the next few weeks:

  • July 2nd – Heartstopper Volume 6 Book Release
  • July 9th to 15th – Basement Series (Daily releases!)

New Documentary Special: Heartstopper: Ending on a Hi

The biggest surprise from the timeline reveal is a brand-new, standalone documentary special hitting Netflix exactly one week after the finale movie premieres.

Titled Heartstopper: Ending on a Hi, the special is described as a “love letter to the community it brought together” and will serve as the ultimate send-off for the Osemanverse adaptation. It has a runtime of 37 minutes.

Here’s the official synopsis for the documentary:

“Heartstopper: Ending on a Hi is a behind-the-scenes special celebrating the conclusion of one of Netflix’s most beloved series. Drawing on unseen archival footage spanning every season through to the final film, the special brings together the cast, creator Alice Oseman, Executive Producer Patrick Walters, and the fans who made Heartstopper a global phenomenon. Through candid interviews and fan voices, it charts the show’s creative journey, cultural impact, and lasting legacy… Because every ending is also a beginning. Somewhere, someone is about to say ‘hi’ for the very first time.”

The documentary is directed by Luke Hyams and executive produced by Sunita Mirchandani Hyams, with Pangaea serving as the production company.

This is in addition to the podcast outlined above, which features five episodes:

  • Episode 1 – Kit Connor and Joe Locke
  • Episode 2 – Corinna Brown and Kizzy Edgell
  • Episode 3 – Yasmin Finney and William Gao
  • Episode 4 – Writer and creator Alice Oseman and executive producer Patrick Walters
  • Episode 5 – Jenny Walser and Tobie Donovan

A New Look at Heartstopper Forever

Adding to the massive schedule drop, TeenVogue published an exclusive interview with creator Alice Oseman yesterday, treating fans to a brand-new first-look image of Kit Connor and Joe Locke (alongside a behind-the-scenes snap of Oseman and executive producer Patrick Walters). In the interview, Oseman revealed that the film will pivot slightly from the show’s ensemble format to focus more tightly on Nick and Charlie due to the limited runtime. However, Oseman assured fans that supporting characters won’t be left behind, noting, “I did make sure that everyone has their goodbye in the film.” Oseman also discussed how the characters are growing up as they reach the cusp of adulthood, teasing a beautiful final script note that reads: “So much has changed, and yet they are still here. Two best friends playing in the snow.”
