Just finished bingeing Season 5? We have some good news and a little bit of sad news. Netflix has officially confirmed that the sixth and final season of the hit Spanish comedy Alpha Males (Machos Alfa) is already in production!
Created by Alberto and Laura Caballero, the series, which has now been on our screens since December 2022, follows four friends who aspired to be the perfect examples of “new masculinity,” only to become a walking tutorial of exactly what not to do. In this grand farewell, Pedro, Raúl, Santi, and Luis are going to give it one last shot. They are desperately trying to be new men, exemplary fathers, and flawless allies, but true deconstruction continues to hilariously resist them.
The hit Spanish comedy Alpha Males first debuted as a Netflix Original on December 30, 2022. Following the success of its inaugural season, the show returned for Season 2 on February 9, 2024, establishing a consistent winter release pattern with Season 3 arriving on January 10, 2025, and Season 4 on January 9, 2026. Most recently, the highly anticipated Season 5 made its way to the platform on April 17, 2026.
In terms of viewership, the series has proven to be a consistent global hit for Netflix. Its first season spent three weeks in the Global Top 10, racking up 44.9 million viewing hours and 8 million completed views. Season 2 followed up with another three weeks on the charts, logging 30.5 million viewing hours and 5.1 million views. The momentum continued with Season 3, which accumulated 23.8 million viewing hours across two weeks in the Top 10, and Season 4, which had the longest stay yet—four weeks in the global charts—while generating 24.3 million viewing hours and 6.8 million views. According to Netflix’s biannual engagement reports, the earlier seasons also continue to draw impressive long-term viewership, demonstrating the comedy’s staying power on the platform.
Following the return of season 5, the series has returned to the daily top 10s across 30 countries, with Spain naturally the country where it is doing best, having gone straight to number 1. As of the time of publishing, the series has now spent 189 days in the Netflix Spain top 10s.

The core gang is back for the big send-off. Returning series regulars Fernando Gil, María Hervás, Raúl Tejón, Kira Miró, Gorka Otxoa, Paula Gallego, Fele Martínez, and Raquel Guerrero will all be reprising their roles for the 10-episode conclusion. They are also joined by a stellar supporting lineup that includes Cayetana Cabezas, María Adánez, Patricia Conde, María Romanillos, Joaquín Reyes, and Manuela Velasco.

The Spanish version also spawned multiple European spin-offs, though none are likely to match the success of Alpha Males. The Dutch equivalent, Roosters, is set to return for season 2 on May 13th. The Italian equivalent, Real Men, premiered in May 2025 and is returning for season 2 in 2026. The French equivalent, Shafted, is still on Netflix, though it ended after a single season last year. The German equivalent, Dudes, was released in October 2025 and has not yet been officially renewed for a season 2 as of the time of publishing.
