The wait is finally almost over, and Netflix has just turned the excitement up to eleven. With the premiere of Stranger Things 5, Volume 1 just days away, the streamer has dropped a final, explosive trailer that promises a darker, more action-packed return to Hawkins than ever before.
Released today, the footage gives fans their best look yet at the gang’s “insane” plan to take down Vecna once and for all, featuring everything from a flying Eleven to a high-speed Demogorgon chase. The new teaser features some brand-new shots, as well as a few we’ve seen previously in stills, clips, or teasers.
The trailer opens with Dustin (Gaten Matarazzo) sitting in a car with Steve (Joe Keery). Dustin insists their plan is “gonna work,” sounding fully sure of himself. Steve isn’t convinced. He notes that they’re not exactly blending in, mostly because of the enormous radio dish mounted on top of the car. The moment sets up another classic Dustin and Steve scramble where confidence and caution collide. There are a few lines of dialogue throughout the trailer that mostly involve planning, some optimism, and plenty of pessimism about their chances as the Upside Down invades Hawkins.

We should note that this trailer appears to have leaked yesterday, courtesy of Netflix Japan, which posted it slightly earlier than initially planned.
It also comes as Netflix ramps up its activations, including its bicycle ride today in Los Angeles (where the new trailer premiered first), and the cast and crew head around the world to showcase the final season, including stops in London, Tokyo, and Berlin.
According to Netflix, tens of thousands of fans attended the One Last Ride campaign that took place on the four-mile stretch on Melrose Ave between Vermont Ave and Fairfax Ave, citing 20 local vendors participating.
