FIFA, Delphi Interactive, and Netflix have confirmed the rollout and new details for their tie-in for the FIFA World Cup. FIFA World Cup: Launch Edition will begin its rollout on June 11th, but there are a few things you should know before diving in.

Releasing just in time for the highly anticipated 2026 tournament spanning the US, Mexico, and Canada, the new title aims to turn your living room into a stadium by utilizing Netflix’s innovative cloud gaming and phone-controller technology.

Here’s everything you need to know about the new FIFA game hitting Netflix Games this month.

What is FIFA World Cup: Launch Edition?

Developed and published by Delphi Interactive, FIFA World Cup: Launch Edition marks a brand new era for the official FIFA gaming franchise. Built entirely for accessibility and immediate fun, the game promises a “pure and joyful” simulation experience that up to four players can jump into, either solo or with friends online.

Much like Netflix’s other cloud gaming offerings, up to four players will be using their phones to play. Simply scroll to the Games tab on your Netflix TV app, find the game, and scan a QR code with your smartphone. Your phone instantly becomes the controller, with the left-hand side of the phone being a joystick for movement and the right-hand side for laying up passes and shots (presumably) at the goal.

As Alain Tascan, President of Games at Netflix, notes, the goal is to make the game as frictionless as possible, “The FIFA World Cup is going to be the cultural event of 2026, and now fans will be able to celebrate their fandom by bringing the game right into their living rooms. We want to bring football back to its roots with something everyone can play with just the touch of a button.”

Roster and Stadiums: A Fully Licensed Experience

Despite being a streamlined, fast-paced game to start, it does not skimp on the official licenses. Debuting alongside the tournament, the game will feature: All 48 Teams participating in the 2026 World Cup, 1,248 Official Players, and 16 Authentic Stadiums spanning across the United States, Mexico, and Canada. Daily updates are expected throughout the tournament.

If you are a hardcore soccer sim fan wondering if there will be deeper mechanics, the “Launch Edition” moniker is exactly what it sounds like.

Delphi Interactive and Netflix are treating this as a foundational kickoff. The initial release is designed as a streamlined, high-energy version of the game focused on immediate, pick-up-and-play fun. As the tournament progresses and the community grows, the developers plan to roll out updated versions that layer on depth, complexity, and technical refinements.

“This major collaboration is a key milestone in FIFA’s commitment to innovation in the football gaming space,” says FIFA President Gianni Infantino. “Our reimagined game truly marks the beginning of a new era of digital football. It will be available for free to Netflix members and is a great historic step for FIFA.”

Like all Netflix Games, FIFA World Cup: Launch Edition will be included in all standard Netflix membership plans completely free of charge, with no ads or in-app purchases.

The rollout strategy will happen in two phases:

  • June 4th, 2026 (Limited Test): Brazil and Germany
  • June 11th, 2026 (Full Rollout): United States, Canada, the UK, France, Italy, Mexico, Spain, Austria, Australia, Belgium, Finland, Ireland, the Netherlands, New Zealand, Poland, South Africa, Sweden, and Switzerland.

Netflix notes that more countries will be added to the roster shortly after launch.

Who is Delphi Interactive?

For those unfamiliar with the developer, Delphi Interactive is a studio aiming to redefine how AAA games are made. In addition to spearheading the massive return of the FIFA simulation franchise, they are also the architects behind 007 FIRST LIGHT alongside IO Interactive. The studio focuses on pairing iconic IP with a lean, modern approach to game development.
