The Art of Sarah‘s Kim Jin Min is back in the director’s seat for his 5th Netflix project to date in the revenge thriller Daughter. The series will star Lim Soo Jung, who plays a mother who sets out on a bloodthirsty quest for vengeance after the loss of her child. The series will begin filming in December 2026.
Daughter is an upcoming South Korean action-thriller series directed by Kim Jin Min, who previously directed Netflix titles such as the smash hit The Art of Sarah, Goodbye Earth, My Name, and Extracurricular.

Who are the cast members of Daughter?
Lim Soo Jung is the only confirmed cast member for Daughter. She plays the role of the mother. The actress recently starred in HBO’s drama series Mad Concrete Dreams and previously starred in lead roles in K-dramas such as Low Life, Search: WWW, Chicago Typewriter, and Netflix’s Melancholia. She has also starred in many Korean films, such as Our Cat, Mothers, The Table, Time Renegades, and Perfect Proposal.

What is the production status of Daughter?
Filming is scheduled to begin sometime in December 2026. A full production schedule has yet to be reported.
When will Daughter be released on Netflix?
Given filming is not due to start until December 2026, it’s possible we will get a late 2027 release. However, a 2028 release is more realistic.
When Netflix releases its Korean movie and TV slate for 2027, we’ll have a clearer idea of when Daughter is expected to hit the streaming service.
