It’s here. Just a day before releasing on Netflix, the streamer has put out the final trailer teasing the big battle to come that’ll conclude Stranger Things nearly 10 years after it first debuted.
The finale, titled “The Rightside Up,” is the eighth episode in the show’s fifth and final season. Netflix released the first four episodes of Season 5 on Thanksgiving Day, and then the now maligned second volume on Christmas Day. Now, just seven days later, the finale is upon us. It has a runtime of 2 hours and 8 minutes.
For those in the United States and Canada, you have likely missed your chance to watch the finale in theaters, with Ross Duffer confirming overnight that tickets have mostly sold out. On Instagram, he wrote:
“Over 1.1 million of you have already RSVPed to the finale screenings on NYE and New Year’s Day, and more than 3,500 showtimes across 620+ theaters are already completely full.
What a way to close out a ten-year journey—together.”
The new trailer, which runs at 1 minute and 37 seconds, details what’s to come. “I need you to fight one last time,” Hopper tells Eleven in the trailer above. “Life has been so unfair to you. Your childhood was taken from you. You’ve been attacked, manipulated by terrible people, but you never let it break you. Fight for the days on the other side of this. Fight for a world beyond Hawkins. Let’s end this, kid.”
In anticipation of the season finale dropping tomorrow, Netflix held a drone show in Las Vegas last night, which has gone megaviral across social media. Dubbed One Last Adventure: Las Vegas, it featured numerous activations, including drones shaped like Vecna, the Hellfire Club, and the cast in some iconic moments from the show. Jamie Campbell Bower was in attendance.
Now, let’s get into the last remaining photos. We don’t have metadata for these ones, so we don’t know how far into the finale each one is.

In other Stranger Things news, as you may have heard, some of the fandom has turned on the show, many of whom are self-confessed Bylers (people who believe Will and Mike should and will be together in the show). While that’s categorically ruled out, they’ve led a campaign of misinformation, citing bogus episode runtimes and encouraging people to review bomb the new episodes, specifically episode 7, claiming that Netflix meddled in the edit and left out vital scenes. That’s led one cast member to call out the misinformation on Instagram.
We’ll have more coverage on Stranger Things today when the new Netflix top 10s drop at 8 PM GMT, where we’ll get to see what kind of bump volume 2 gave to the show. As it stands right now, season 5 has amassed 489 million hours watched globally since volume 1 debuted.
