Overnight, the official One Piece Netflix account on Instagram posted a strange set of emojis, which, as we now know, was teasing a brand-new sneak peek behind-the-scenes video that just dropped across Netflix’s social media and on YouTube.
We knew a teaser of sorts was coming soon after a cryptic post on the One Piece Instagram teased fans! Our last look at the second season was during Netflix’s TUDUM event back in May 2025. Ever since, fans have been desperate to see even more.

Earlier today, a brand-new sneak peek was released, featuring some incredible behind-the-scenes shots from One Piece season 2, as well as insights and reflections from the cast. Notably, the cast reflects on the excitement of returning for the second season of One Piece, noting that the story grows bigger and more intense. The Straw Hats set out on a new adventure into the Grand Line, searching for the ultimate treasure. This season emphasizes the deepening bond of the crew as they learn to fully rely on one another. At its core, the series continues to convey the message of following one’s dreams despite external pressures, promising fans an adventure filled with heart and discovery.
“The Straw Hats are very, very excited to be back because the story of One Piece gets bigger and it gets better,” Iñaki Godoy, aka Luffy, opens the new sneak peek with. We’re also treated to an opening shot of Loguetown, with a bustling town square, and Usopp exclaiming his excitement, “Look at this place!”. We get various shots of Whiskey Peak and Loguetown as Iñaki continues, “And now in season two, they are ready to go into the Grand Line to search for the ultimate treasure, the One Piece.”

Switching over to Mackenyu (Zoro), we get to see him, Taz Skyler (Sanji), and Emily Rudd (Nami) in action, filming fight scenes for the season, as he expresses, “This season was a lot more intense!”

Emily Rudd shares her thoughts on how the story will continue, how the Straw Hat crew has created their own family, and how those themes will carry over into the second season, “Last season, it was so exciting to see the Straw Hats come together and create this family,” she continues, “In season two, you get to see them relying on each other fully.” We get to see various shots of the actors embracing, really embodying the friendship that has developed between them behind the scenes and the characters they portray.

Jacob Romero, aka Usopp, concurs, stating, “One Piece has done an amazing job of carrying this really important message.” Taz Skyler continues, “Which is following one’s dreams against the pressure that the world puts on you,” finishing with Jacob’s thoughts, “This season is such a big adventure with so much heart.”

Not only are the fans eager to watch season 2, but Emily Rudd can’t wait for the fans to watch the next season too: “I’m just so excited for fans to see it.”
Mackenyu promises plenty of action: “It will show what the Straw Hat crew really can do.” All the while, we continue to see more action shots of the Straw Hats in action, and even a look at Julie Rehwald as Tashigi!

In other One Piece news, just last week, we got word on the production timelines for season 3 of the show, which is set to commence this November in South Africa. Per new intel, production will run through to at least June 2026, meaning a 2027 release is almost certainly on the cards.
