One of Netflix’s longest-running documentary series is returning for a record-breaking eighth season in June 2025. Serving as a spiritual successor to I’ll Have What Phil’s Having, Philip Rosenthal, best known for his role in Everybody Loves Raymond, will be back for another six episodes.
The reality/documentary travel series picked up its eighth season renewal in June of last year, a few months after its seventh season debuted in March 2024. 2025 celebrates the show’s seventh anniversary, with season 1 debuting in January 2018. Regarding the number of seasons, Somebody Feed Phil is now the longest-running documentary series in Netflix history, with Chef’s Table its closest rival at seven volumes (albeit with several spin-offs in between).
Thanks to swift releases, the show remains a good ratings pull for Netflix, too; between 2023 and 2024, all seasons of the series picked up 62.90 million hours watched on the streamer globally, equating to roughly 12.4 million views.
In terms of new locations, we’re told the actor will visit some fresh new locations this season, including Guatemala, Amsterdam in the Netherlands, Tbilisi in Georgia, Sydney and Adelaide in Australia, Boston and Las Vegas in the United States, and the Basque Country and San Sebastian in Spain. As mentioned, Brad Garrett and Ray Romano will be among the guest roster for this season, and they have appeared in previous seasons. The American singer and dancer Donny Osmond will also feature this time around.
All eight new episodes are landing on Netflix globally on June 18th, 2025.
What’s on Netflix has obtained the following first looks for the upcoming eighth season: Phil chowing down on a fish almost whole, enjoying a picnic, at dinner with some of the guests we’ve already touched upon, and handling chickens.
