Welcome to the second full week of October, and it’s going to be a busy one for Netflix, with some licensed favorites like Nurse Jackie and Poldark joining the service in the US, alongside some great films and new Netflix Originals. Here’s your preview of everything scheduled to drop on Netflix from October 6th through to the 12th.
This week comes off the back of one of Netflix’s busiest release schedules for the entire year, with over 110 new movies and series touching down on the service. Of course, there’s lots more to look forward to throughout the remainder of October 2025, with our full list of upcoming titles getting updates every few days.
Most Anticipated New Releases on Netflix This Week
Boots (Season 1)
Coming to Netflix: Thursday
It’s been a long time coming, but the first season of Boots, a new adaptation of the Greg Cope White memoir, is Netflix’s big new scripted series of the week. Previously known as The Corps, the story is set against the gritty backdrop of the 1990s U.S. Marine Corps, when being gay in the military was still illegal, the series follows Cameron Cope, a closeted and directionless recruit, and his best friend Ray McAffey, the son of a decorated Marine. Thrown into the chaos of boot camp alongside a diverse group of fellow trainees, the pair must navigate a world built on discipline and conformity as they stumble toward self-discovery. Blending biting humor with heartfelt emotion, BOOTS explores friendship, identity, and resilience in an institution determined to break them down before they can build themselves up.
We’re not sure if this will be a big hit for Netflix, but from those we’ve spoken to who have seen it, it’s going to be well-reviewed at the very least, we suspect, and score some big fans.
Nurse Jackie (Seasons 1-7)

One of the best things about Netflix in recent years has been its ability to relicense, albeit often for short periods, some of the very best series from distributors and channels from the past few decades. Sometimes, for the first time, and others returning after long stints away from Netflix. One such show returning after five years off the platform is Nurse Jackie, the underrated Showtime series starring Edie Falco.
All 80 episodes are heading back onto the platform for an unknown amount of time, with the dark comedy medical drama following Jackie Peyton in a bustling New York City hospital. She has a lot to juggle in her day job and personal life, not least a crippling dependency and growing addiction to pain pills to help her back pain.
The Woman in Cabin 10 (2025)
Coming to Netflix: Friday
Ruth Ware’s The Woman in Cabin 10 is getting a movie adaptation this week with British acting royalty Kiera Knightley, who is back filming season 2 of Black Doves for Netflix, headlining. Knightley plays a journalist who is invited to attend an event on a megayacht, only to witness a murder and is gaslighted into believing it never happened. Her search for answers lands her in potential serious trouble.
