Some significant and long-standing licensed shows on Netflix are departing the streamer in December 2025. Here are four major TV series that you’ve only got minimal time left to stream.

Netflix is constantly licensing series and movies to its catalog. Some shows have been in Netflix’s library for over a decade. Of course, series and movies leaving Netflix are nothing new; they’re part of a regular rotation of titles on and off the service. Looking to December 2025, it’s a particularly significant month for departures, and this month, we’ll see some big series potentially depart.

A quick note: Animal Kingdom, Blindspot, and The Amazing Digital Circus have all displayed removal notices recently, though the first two have been renewed through 2026, and the latter notice was an error on Netflix’s part.

As always, please note that all the removals listed below are subject to change and could be renewed. For the full list of what’s departing Netflix US throughout December, keep it locked here on What’s on Netflix.

How I Met Your Mother

Leaving Netflix: December 4, 2025

8 Seasons of the beloved sitcom How I Met Your Mother returned to Netflix on June 3rd, 2024 as part of a wide-ranging Disney deal. Its return marked its second run on Netflix, following a period throughout much of the 2010s before its departure in 2017. Much like all the other Disney shows from that 2024 deal onwards, it’s only been available for 18 months. Once departed, the series will remain available to stream on Hulu in the US after leaving Netflix.

How I Met Your Mother is headlined by Josh Radnor as Ted, a father who recounts to his children the various events and mishaps that led him to meet their mother.

The next Disney removal will take place on New Year’s Day in the United States, with Lost set to depart, followed by Prison Break later in the month.

Arrow

Leaving Netflix: December 18, 2025

Arrow (2012) laid the foundation for the wider Arrowverse, which comprises shows such as The Flash, Supergirl, and Legends of Tomorrow. All 8 seasons of Arrow have been available on the streamer since 2020. The series follows billionaire playboy Oliver Queen, who secretly fights crime as the street-level crime-fighter Green Arrow.

The good news? Other Arrowverse spinoff shows will continue to be available on Netflix: Supergirl remains available until December 15, 2026; Legends of Tomorrow remains available until September 2, 2027; and The Flash remains available until November 28, 2028. But if Arrow does depart, it’s going to be much more fragmented and harder to watch the Arrowverse in order

The 100

Leaving Netflix: December 18, 2025

One of The CW’s most standout shows, sci-fi drama The 100 takes place after a nuclear disaster wipes out Earth. A century later, the remaining vestiges of the human race aboard a spacecraft drop 100 people onto the planet’s surface to examine its habitability. The series was first added to Netflix on October 22nd, 2014. By 2020, all seven seasons were streaming on Netflix.

The removal from the US marks the final region of Netflix to lose the show, following most European territories earlier this year.

Supernatural

Leaving Netflix: December 18, 2025

Supernatural Season Netflix Release Date

With its first season added to Netflix in September 2012, Supernatural has been on the streamer for almost as long as the first Netflix Original. After all 15 seasons began streaming in 2020, the series became a cornerstone of licensed content on Netflix. However, on December 18, Supernatural is leaving Netflix. The series, which originally aired on The WB before transitioning to The CW, follows brothers Dean and Sam Winchester (played by Jensen Ackles and Jared Padalecki) as they travel across the United States, battling various paranormal entities.

Despite being an older show, Supernatural garnered excellent viewership on Netflix, with the Netflix Engagement Reports suggesting it picked up 64.7M views from 2023 through mid-2025, and that’s with the show only being in the United States.
