More muscles and death-defying battles are on the way to Netflix with a brand new Baki series, Baki-Dou. The series will adapt the events of Baki-Dou, which will see a bored Baki come face-to-face with the newly resurrected legendary swordsman Miyamoto Musashi. Eyed for a February 2026 release, here’s everything we know about Baki-Dou on Netflix.
Baki-Dou is an upcoming Japanese Netflix Original anime series, the sequel to Baki-Hanma, and adapted from Keisuke Itagaki’s manga of the same name. The series is animated by TMS Entertainment and will be distributed worldwide exclusively on Netflix.
The Baki franchise is one of the most popular manga series about martial arts, and has been ongoing since September 1991. There have been over 150 manga volumes, with over 100 million copies in circulation. The Baki franchise has been a Netflix staple since 2018, when the events of Baki were adapted into a three-part anime series. Its sequel, Baki-Hanma, was also released on Netflix between September 2021 and August 2023.
When is the Baki-Dou Netflix release date?
At the time of writing, Netflix has only confirmed that Baki-Dou will be released sometime in 2026. However, we’ve learned that a preliminary release date of February 26, 2026, has been set.

What is the plot of Baki-Dou?
Netflix has provided a synopsis for Baki-Dou:
“Following his legendary father-son battle against Yujiro Hanma, Baki faces a new threat: the resurrection of Japan’s greatest swordsman, Miyamoto Musashi. As warriors like Doppo Orochi, Jack Hanma, and Kaoru Hanayama return to the fight, the stage is set for an unprecedented clash—the strongest underground fighter vs. the legendary samurai, in a cross-era showdown.”
Who are the cast members of Baki-Dou?
We currently don’t have a cast like for Baki-Dou. However, we would expect several cast members from the Baki-Hanma series to reprise their roles in Baki-Dou.
- Nobunaga Shimazaki (One Piece) as Baki Hanma.
- Akio Ootsuka (Fate/Zero) Yuujirou Hanma.
- Takayuki Sugou (Naruto) as Doppo Orochi.
- Kenta Miyake (My Hero Academia) as Jack Hanma.
- Takuya Eguchi (Spy x Family) as Kaoru Hanayama.
How much of the manga will the first season adapt?
As we don’t have an episode count, we can only speculate where the first season will end.
However, if we use the episode counts of the previous Baki and Baki Hanma series, we can get a rough idea of how much of the Baki-Dou manga will be adapted.
- Baki (Part 1) – 13 episodes.
- Baki (Part 2) – 13 episodes.
- Baki (Part 3) – 13 episodes.
- Baki Hanma (Season 1) – 12 episodes
- Baki Hanma (Season 2 Part 1) – 13 episodes
- Baki Hanma (Season 2 Part 2) – 14 episodes.
There are 22 volumes of the Baki-Dou manga, with a total of 197 chapters. Assuming the series will be split into parts like the previous adaptations, then we could see Part 1/Season 1 ending sometime around the end of the 9th volume (approx 81 chapters).
