Netflix has been busy sharing videos of the new cast members for the second season of the live-action One Piece on social media. In these short videos, the cast have been asked questions about their time on set, and below we’ve got the full transcript of everything that’s been said by the new cast so far!

One Piece is one of the most popular fictional franchises on the planet, and fans are already gearing up for the release of the second season of the live-action adaptation. Filming ended earlier this year and is expected to be released sometime in 2025!

With the series in post-production, and plenty of months left before the second season is released, Netflix is already hard at work promoting the upcoming season. This has included numerous behind-the-scenes teasers, featuring cast and crew members, as they peel back the curtain on what will be another incredible season. Not to mention, we’ll see our very first look at the second season at Netflix’s annual Tudum event on May 31st. So, make sure to keep an eye out on our social media and the website, as we’ll be covering everything from the event, including all the latest One Piece news.

 

Recently, the official X account for the live-action One Piece has been releasing short videos featuring some of the new cast members we’ll see in the second season. In these videos, the cast shared some of their thoughts on the second season. We’ve transcribed all of the videos below to make it easier for One Piece to catch up on what’s been said by the cast!


Julia Rehwald aka Tashigi

What did you learn?

Julia: Well, I literally did learn how to sword fight.

Most impressive character?

Julia: Robin!

Advice for your Character?

Julia: Keep both feet planted on the ground. Keep your center of gravity.

One trait you wish you had?

Julia: I wish I could be as proficient with a sword as Tashigi is.

Most impressive set?

Julia: Loguetown!

What prop are you taking home?

Julia: My marine jacket and my purple gloves because they’re cute. 

What will you do after filming?

Julia: I’m immediately going to hug my dog

What will you miss the most?

Julia: My friends!

Julia: Fun, action-packed, beautiful, heartwarming, optimistic

 


Rob Colletti aka Walpol

Most impressive set?

Rob: Crocodile’s office. It actually looks like it’s underwater.

What prop are you taking home?

Rob: The hippo hood cape. That thing is really dope.

Most impressive character?

Rob: Aside from me? Vivi. Teresa is absolutely killing it.

Advice for your character?

Rob: Chill, bro. Relax. It’s all mecca.

What will you do after filming?

Rob: Go get some pizza.

What did you learn?

Rob: The relationships that are formed. Not only shapes the characters, but it also allows all of them to grow.

What will you miss the most?

Rob: The friends we made along the way.

Describe season 2 in a few words

Rob: Bigger than ever. Look out for me as Wapel and the ever-expanding story on season 2 of One Piece on Netflix.

 


David Dastmalchian aka Mr. 3

Most impressive set?

David: The giant’s cave, they use one scale down. When the giant was inside of it, it looked like he was filling the entire cave. So massive!

Most impressive character?

David: Monkey D. Luffy himself. His energy is infectious, and he is perfect.

One trait you wish you had?

David: The ability to control wax. I’m a candle addict. I love candles. And this way, I could make all the candles I ever wanted.

Advice for your character?

David: Just chill, Mr. Tree. It’s all gonna be okay.

Describe season two in five words

David: Exciting, thrilling, hilarious, adventurous, and scary.  Get ready, people.

What will you do after filming?

David: Look at all the cool stuff that I’ve been able to sneak away from set.

What will you miss the most?

David: The sense of family. I have my own family here with me, and they’re pretty amazing. And it feels like I’m part of the One Piece family when I’m shooting. So thanks for including me, guys.

What prop are you taking home?

David: My Mr. 3 hair because it’s so dynamic, and I think I would look really cool. And anytime I go anywhere and I want to order free things, I could just point at my hair.

Ty Keogh aka Dalton

Most impressive set?

Ty: I really enjoyed the Drum Island set, the outdoor set. A lot of detail, a lot of texture, but I would say the most grand set that I was in was Waffle’s throne room, which was just huge.

Most impressive character?

Ty: Waffle and Rob Coletti was just magic.

What will you miss the most?

Ty: Really cool people, crew, cast, showrunners. Everybody was fully invested.

What did you learn?

Ty: Well, I knew nothing before, so I got a hell of a lot in the last few months.

What prop are you taking home?

Ty: I think I’d like to take one of these home. *gestures to Ox mask prop*

Describe season two in a few words?

Ty: Bigger than you’d expect.

Any advice for your character?

Ty: Don’t stop being kind. Look out for Dalton in season two of One Piece.

 


Camrus Johnson aka Mr. 5

Most impressive set?

Camrus: It’s gotta be Whiskey Peak. Actually, it doesn’t feel like you’re on a set at all. So beautifully built, that it felt like you were just in some random neighborhood.

Most impressive character?

Camrus: Mr. 3. I love David’s portrayal of him. He brought the character to life, so that’s probably my favorite.

What prop are you taking home?

Camrus: The little garden boots. The pants.

Advice for your character?

Camrus: Sometimes you gotta keep your mouth shut, and flick a booger. You know what I’m saying?

What did you learn?

Camrus: How the heart of the show is adventure, and friendship, and support, and believing in one another. And how a lot of the fan base believes in that themselves, and that’s why they like the show so much.

What will you do after filming?

Camrus: Get all my friends together to celebrate this incredible journey that I’ve been on.

What will you miss the most?

Camrus: I’m gonna miss my family. Every two weeks, we would have some sort of big dinner, some sort of big hangout, some sort of big adventure.

Mark Harelik aka Dr. Hiriluk

Most impressive set?

Mark: Dr. Herolook’s laboratory is one of the most amazing sets I’ve ever been on.

Most impressive character?

Mark: Tony Tony Chopper!

What prop are you taking home?

Mark: I would take home my wig. Completely outlandish, completely otherworldly, and completely realistic.

One trait you wish you had?

Mark: I would like to tap into Dr. Hiriluk’s passion and persistence.

Advice for your character?

Mark: Don’t be so eager to try untested experiments on your sick patients. A lot of them are dying.

What did you learn?

Mark: As outlandish as this can appear on the surface [One Piece], it has deep, deep human roots. Incredibly moving.

What will you miss the most?

Mark: The South African crew, the South African production, the artists that work here are world class. If I may invite you to watch my portrayal of Dr. Hiriluk in Season 2 of One Piece!

 


Jazzara Jaslyn aka Miss Valentine

Most impressive set?

Jazzara: That’s a tie between Whiskey Peak and Candelabra. Very magical.

Most impressive character?

Jazzara: I’ll say Mr. 3!

What prop are you taking home?

Jazzara: I would take my gloves with the Kilo-Kilo fruit.

One trait you wish you had?

Jazzara: I wish I could fly up and down with an umbrella!

Advice for your character?

Jazzara: Fly more. You don’t have to be on the ground that often. 

What was your favorite part of filming?

Jazzara: Definitely the hardest work that I got to do. Just being able to fly so high in the sky. I literally felt like I was flying. 

What did you learn? 

Jazzara: How many different types of powers there are.

What will you do after filming? 

Jazzara: Have a coffee and probably journal. Reflect on my time.

What will you miss the most?

Jazzara: Just being on set. It really did feel like I was in a different world.

Jazzara: Magic, joy, growth, flying, laughter! Hey guys, you can look out for me, Jazzara Jaslyn. I’m playing Miss Valentine in season two of One Piece!

 

 


Callum Kerr aka Smoker

What did you learn?

Callum: I didn’t know anything before, so everything!

Most impressive character?

Callum: Smoker!

One trait you wish you had?

Callum: Not caring what people think. He doesn’t give a damn.

Most impressive set?

Callum: Loguetown.

What prop are you taking home?

Callum: Billower Bike! Jacket is pretty cool.

What will you do after filming?

Callum: Work on some music.

What will you miss the most?

Callum: The other actors.

Callum: Energetic, crazy, fighty, intense, spooky.

 


Lera Abova aka Miss All Sunday

Most impressive set?

Lera: The Office of Mr. Zero.

Most impressive character?

Lera: Wopel, because I had a great scene with Rob. And I also think Miss All Sunday.

What prop are you taking home?

Lera: The latex black coat and the boots.  The whole outfit and the wig, too. Everybody wants to take this piece home.

Advice for your character?

Lera: Don’t see the worst in people. You don’t have to hate people just because they hated you. I just wish that she would find her peace.

What will you miss the most?

Lera: Oh, of course, we’ll miss the people and the excitement, and so much love. It’s kind of bittersweet to leave. 

What did you learn?

Lera: It’s actually not about the one piece. It’s about the adventure. It’s about the people you meet. It’s about the troubles you conquer together. It’s an incredibly beautiful message. I guess that’s it!
