FUBAR recently returned for an action-packed second season, with Arnie reprising his role as Luke Brunner. There’s still plenty for the series to cover, but will FUBAR be renewed for a third season? Sadly, early data suggests it’s two seasons and done for FUBAR after a pitiful opening week. Here’s what you need to know.
FUBAR is a Netflix Original action-comedy series created by Nick Santora, with Hollywood legend Arnold Schwarzenegger starring in his first leading role in a television series as Luke Brunner. Skydance Television and Blackjack Films produce the series.
The series centers on Luke Brunner, a CIA agent nearing retirement, who discovers that his daughter is also a CIA operative, putting their relationship to the test after realizing they know nothing about each other. The pair is then forced to team up on dangerous operations, testing the limits of their relationship when Luk begins being overprotective of his daughter.
FUBAR Season 3 Netflix Renewal Status
Official Renewal Status: Pending (Last Updated: 17/06/2025)
Expecting Cancellation
At the time of writing, Netflix has yet to renew FUBAR for a third season. This is understandable considering the second season has only just been released on Netflix, but it’s almost certainly not going to be returning after a massive drop in viewership from season 1 to season 2.
In its first week, from June 8th to June 15th, FUBAR Season 2 clocked in 14.4 million hours watched, which equates to 2.2 million views. Season 1, in its first week, garnered 88.94 million hours watched and 12.6 million views. That’s an 82% drop in views from season to season and almost certainly spells a quick demise for the series.
If we examine how Season 1 performed over the course of its five weeks in the top 10, things start to look pretty unattainable for the series.
How about stacking it up with other Netflix Original series?
What to Expect from FUBAR Season 3 If It Gets A Surprise Renewal
Will the team rescue Tina?
Great Dane revealed to Barry and Aldon that Tina had been feeding the Russians false information in order to protect her friends. However, Great Dane alerted her superiors to this, which could get her killed. Barry and Aldon are now determined to save Tina from harm, and have even threatened Roo, the new regional director, that they will go rogue to do so.
This will be Roo’s first challenge as regional director, who will likely learn quickly the implications and headaches that come from handling impulsive agents, even if they are her friends.
At the very least, the start of the next season will be an excursion into Russia, as the team attempts to rescue Tina.

Luke and Tally’s wedding?
After getting back together, Luke popped the question to his ex-wife for a second time, who gladly said yes to remarrying him. Regardless of how big or how small the wedding is, one thing is certainly guaranteed: drama will happen in one form or another. An early test of their rekindled marriage will be whether Luke continues his commitment to retiring from the CIA, as the severity of the next crisis (such as rescuing Tina) will determine whether he feels the need to get involved.

Emma and Aldon?
Emma has invited Aldon to dinner when he gets back from the exchange for the Great Dane and Tina. However, any chance of a date will be put on the back burner for now as Barry and Aldon are close to going rogue to rescue Tina from the Russians.
If Emma is involved in the rescue efforts with Tina, then there may be a few romantic moments on the mission in store for the pair. However, if any honey pot tactics are needed during the mission, it could stir up some jealousy between the two. It’s going to be fun to see where their romance ends up.

What about Carter and Donnie?
Poor Carter and Donnie are on their way to Greenland, where they will need to stay in a safehouse for at least another year. If this is a running gag for the pair, then perhaps they will travel all across the world to different safe houses to stay safe.
Hopefully, for their sake, they will be stateside sooner rather than later.
