Picture: Rory McIlroy in Full Swing – Box to Box Films
Outside of F1: Drive to Survive, Full Swing has arguably been one of the most successful Box to Box films sports documentaries on Netflix, with three seasons to its name. However, without much fanfare, we’ve recently discovered that Full Swing has been quietly renewed for a fourth season and is currently in production! Here’s what we know so far.
Box to Box Films has been one of Netflix’s most frequent collaborators, having produced incredible documentaries such as F1: Drive to Survive, Tour de France: Unchained, Race for the Crown, Six Nations: Full Contact, Sprint, Break Point, Full Swing, and the upcoming Matchroom.
Full Swing is centered on the world of golf, in particular, the incredible professional golfers of the PGA Tour. The series takes fans behind the scenes with some of the world’s top golfers, including Jordan Spieth, Justin Thomas, Rory McIlroy, and others, as we gain insight into the men behind the drivers and the pressures they face both on and off the course.
So far, there have been a total of 3 seasons of Full Swing, and previously, Netflix had been public with announcing the renewal of each season. However, we’ve had radio silence on the future of the series and no word on a fourth season until now.
After doing some digging, Box to Box Films has listed the fourth season of Full Swing on their website as “In Production.” It’s highly unlikely that it’s been listed as a mistake, so we’ll take that as confirmation that the series has been quietly renewed.

So why has Netflix been so quiet over the renewal of Full Swing season 4? Largely, this may be due to the performance of not only Full Swing but also other sports documentaries on Netflix, which have struggled to reach the same level of popularity as F1: Drive to Survive.
Full Swing had a strong debut in the first half of 2023, with 8.8 million views, but saw a significant drop-off with only 800,000 views in the second half of the year. A year later, the second season premiered and garnered 4.8 million views in the first half of 2024, 4 million views fewer than its debut season had achieved. The third season had even fewer views, with 4.1 million in the first half of 2025.
| Title Name | 2023 H1 Views | 2023 H2 Views | 2024 H1 Views | 2024 H2 Views | 2025 H1 Views | Total Views |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Full Swing: Season 1 | 8,800,000 | 800,000 | 1,000,000 | 200,000 | 600,000 | 11,400,000 |
| Full Swing: Season 2 | – | – | 4,800,000 | 500,000 | 500,000 | 5,800,000 |
| Full Swing: Season 3 | – | – | – | – | 4,100,000 | 4,100,000 |
As you can see from the table above, there has been a decline in the number of viewers Full Swing has been able to retain. This may have contributed to the streaming service’s lack of enthusiasm for announcing the series renewal.
The data in the table below compares Full Swing to other Box to Box Films sports docuseries and their performances in the Netflix top ten list between 2023 and 2025.

When is Full Swing season 4 coming to Netflix?
If the fourth season follows the same release pattern as the previous three seasons, then we can expect to see it on Netflix in either February or March 2026.
