The Rest is Football on Netflix will be filmed “in a studio in the heart of New York” where hosts Lineker, Shearer, and Richards will offer daily in-depth analysis and insights of the games featured throughout the tournament. Not to mention they will be joined by special guests, likely former and current professional footballers, coaches and other sports journalists.
Gary Lineker had the following to say about The Rest is Football coming to Netflix:
“We can’t wait to bring The Rest Is Football to Netflix for the 2026 World Cup. It’s a fantastic opportunity for the three of us to do what we love — talk football every day — but on a truly global stage. Expect all the usual analysis, honesty and plenty of laughs… just with a few more cameras pointed at us, all from the Big Apple.”
The iconic trio also shared a promotional message on Instagram.
The FIFA World Cup is hosted once every four years and is the biggest sporting event on the planet. Watched by billions around the world, all eyes will be on the host countries of the 2026 FIFA World Cup, which is co-hosted by Canada, Mexico, and the United States of America.
