Fans of gritty Polish crime thrillers, get ready! The Netflix series Go Ahead, Brother (original title: Idź przodem, bracie) is officially returning for a second season. According to Netflix this morning, filming for the highly anticipated second season is currently wrapping up.
As a recap, the first season, consisting of six episodes, landed on Netflix in October 2024 and has been silent ever since. It landed in the global top 10s for 2 weeks, picking up 6M views for its 35 million hours watched. According to the Netflix Engagement Reports, the series went on to secure 9M views (3 million in its first two weeks) by the end of 20,24 and an additional 3.6M views throughout 2024.

What is the plot of Season 2?
Set over a year after the intense events of the first season, the paths of Oskar, his brother-in-law Sylwek, and the ruthless gangster Damian will cross once more. Oskar has decided to make a risky deal with Damian, putting everything on the line.
An unexpected ultimatum will soon put Oskar and his family in deadly danger. However, this perilous situation will simultaneously present him with a vital chance for redemption.

Who is in the cast?
Returning to lead the series are Piotr Witkowski as the former officer Oskar, alongside Konrad Eleryk as Sylwek. The screen will also see the return of favorite characters, including Marta (played by Aleksandra Adamska), Czorny (played by Cezary Żak), and Damian (played by Marcin Kowalczyk).

Behind the Scenes: Raising the Bar
Aleksandra Terpińska is taking the helm to direct the second season. Terpińska is well-known for her festival-acclaimed film Other People (Inni Ludzie) and the critically praised series A Decent Man (Porządny Człowiek).
Producer Łukasz Dzięcioł noted that choosing Terpińska was based on intuition, confident that she would bring a fresh perspective and great attention to the characters. Dzięcioł promises that they are raising the bar for quality to deliver world-class, spectacular action scenes.
Director Terpińska stated that they wanted to maintain the tension and action that viewers loved in the first season, as action is in the DNA of the series. While turning up the action to ensure every scene makes an impression, she emphasized that they are also diving deeper into the relationships between characters to reveal surprising new sides to them.
Screenwriter Kacper Wysocki added that the success of the first season gave the team the space to go further emotionally and narratively, teasing a bolder, less obvious, and “juicier” story.
