Interview with the Vampire is one of two Anne Rice shows currently streaming on Netflix in the United States, and as a bit of a surprise, the second season is coming very soon.
Note: This article primarily covers Netflix US – other regions are not streaming Interview with the Vampire.
To recap, Netflix first added Interview with the Vampire as part of a big slate deal with AMC in August 2024, and it was only licensed on a single-year basis, and only the first season was added.
As we’ve been covering, though, while many of the AMC shows that Netflix initially picked up in August 2024 have departed, a select few have received extensions in recent days. Some outlets had reported that they’d confirmed with Netflix that Interview with the Vampire was definitely among the titles leaving, but that’s not turned out to be the case. As we reported yesterday, Interview with the Vampire was extended to September 30th, 2026.
These extension dates, we’re now learning, seem to be suggesting when new seasons will drop on Netflix. That came today with Netflix confirming, as part of its September 2025 slate reveal, that season 2 would be joining the catalog. Season 2, or Part II as AMC dubs it, consists of 8 episodes and arrives on Netflix on September 30th, 2025.
In addition to streaming on Netflix, the series will remain available in full on AMC+.
Why the renewal? AMC and Netflix haven’t gone on the record, but given that season 3 is confirmed and due out in 2026, we suspect the extension is to continue promoting Interview with the Vampire in the hopes that it translates into people getting tied to the series and check it out live or on AMC+ when it returns.
What to Expect from Season 2 of Interview with the Vampire
Released between May 2024 and June 2024, Season 2 follows Louis and Claudia’s journey through war-torn Europe, where visions of Lestat and Claudia haunt Louis, growing colder. In Romania, they discover a feral vampire and meet its weary maker, Daciana, who refuses to join them and ends her own existence. Drawn by news of liberation, they move on to Paris, the “mother of New Orleans.” In the present, Molloy pushes past Armand’s evasions, pulling him into the interview as Louis’s memories resurface.
Newcomers for season 2 included Ben Daniels, Bally Gill, Suzanne Andrade, Esme Appleton, Jake Cecil, Roxane Duran, Christopher Geary, and Yung Nguyen.
