With 2026 only a few short months away, it’s time to look ahead to the new year and explore all of the latest and returning anime coming to Netflix in 2026! 

Please note that this list is not definitive and may include assumptions about release dates. This is a work-in-progress preview and will be updated regularly to reflect new titles.

Baki-Dou: The Invincible Samurai (Part 2)

Coming to Netflix: June 18

Netflix has been the home of Baki for several years, and continues to deliver excellent new seasons. Currently, the anime is adapting the Invincible Samurai Arc, and it has been confirmed that more episodes will be on the way on June 18.

Following his legendary father-son battle against Yujiro Hanma, Baki faces a new threat: the resurrection of Japan’s greatest swordsman, Miyamoto Musashi. As warriors like Doppo Orochi, Jack Hanma, and Kaoru Hanayama return to the fight, the stage is set for an unprecedented clash—the strongest underground fighter vs. the legendary samurai, in a cross-era showdown.


Daemons of the Shadow Realm (Season 1)

Coming to Netflix: July 4, 2026.

The anime is an adaptation of the manga Yomi no Tsugai by Hiromu Arakawa, the creator of Full Metal Alchemist. The manga debuted in 2021, so fans have been waiting for over 5 years for an anime adaptation. While the series has already been available to stream on Crunchyroll, it will be released worldwide on Netflix in multiple dubs.

Yuru and Asa, twins from an isolated village, were separated by night and day. Older brother Yuru is an animal hunter, while his younger sister Asa has been locked away and ordered to perform a special duty. But when an attack on their village meant to capture Yuru leaves all the adults dead, Yuru and Asa attempt to flee, but in the chaos, Yuru is confronted by a woman claiming to be his true twin sister. Yura is saved by the village outsider Ryuu “Dera” Tadera, and before the pair are captured, Dera makes Yura give a gift to the deity of the village, which results in a pair of daemons summoned to the world, whose existence has been bound to reveal the truth behind the attack on the village.


Pokémon Horizons: Season 3—Rising Hope Part 3

Coming to Netflix: June 26, 2026

The next chapter in the Pokémon Horizons story is coming, which will take place a year after the events of The Search for Laqua. Liko and Roy will return, who both seek to re-establish a now leaderless Rising Volt Tacklers. This time, the pair is joined by Roy’s new shiny Lucario, Dot, an expert intel gatherer, and Ult, who declares himself Roy’s rival.


Sparks of Tomorrow (Season 1)

Coming to Netflix: July 5, 2026

The brand-new anime from Kyoto Animation will debut on Netflix in July 2026!

In an alternate version of the early 20th century where technological progress evolved along a different path, shaped by steam power, Kyoto is blanketed in constant smoke. A boy, hardened by the loss of his brother, grows distrustful after their shared dream of an “Age of Electricity” is cut short. A deeply devout girl hides her dreams and regrets for her deceased mother deep within her heart. When the two cross paths, they set about exploring the secrets of the 20th Century Electrical Catalog, a glimpse into the future they long for. Together, they must confront their pasts and carve a path toward the future they once believed in.


Ribbon Hero (2026) N

Coming to Netflix: June 9, 2026

One of the oldest and most beloved Japanese manga, Princess Knight, is finally getting a modern adaptation! Led by director Yuki Igarashi, who previously worked on Jujutsu Kaisen and Star Wars Visions, plans to pay his utmost respect to Princess Knight creator Ichizo Kobayashi with the brand new adaptation.

“Sapphire is the princess of a kingdom that no longer exists. Having lost everything in her homeland of Silverland to the calamity known as ‘Nergal,’ she wanders in despair until she finally arrives in Goldland.

Though burdened by her past, she begins to find a glimmer of hope as she encounters the kindness of the people there. But as if to sneer at her peaceful new life, the calamity Nergal appears once more. The very despair that once reduced her homeland to ashes now threatens to steal the light from this land as well.

‘I won’t lose anything ever again. And I won’t let anyone else lose anything either.’ Brushing away her tears of sorrow, the girl takes up her sword. This is the story of a lone hero who ties her ribbon and resolves to defy her fate.”


Bass X Machina (Season 1) N

Coming to Netflix: October 6, 2026

From South Korean animation studio Studio Mir, an exciting new anime is headed to Netflix later this year. The series will feature the voice talent of Brian Tyree Henry, Janelle Monáe, Tati Gabrielle, Cree Summer, Chaske Spencer, Currie Graham, and Starlette DuPois.

“In a lawless Steampunk West overrun by brutal outlaws, machines, and supernatural terrors, a father is forced to become judge, jury, and executioner—knowing that every act of justice meant to protect his family may ultimately cost him the very people he’s fighting to save.”


Blue Box (Season 2) N

Coming to Netflix: October 2026

Telecom Animation Film did a wonderful job with the first season of Blue Box, and, naturally, fans are already super excited for the second season. We now have confirmation that the second season will be released in October 2026!

Taiki Inomata, a freshman of Eimei Senior High, is a member of the high school badminton team and is in love with Chinatsu Kano, a second-year and the ace of the girls’ basketball team.


Ranma 1/2 (Season 3)

Coming to Netflix: October 2026

The second season of Ranma 1/2 only came to an end, so fans will be delighted that the wait for more episodes will be less than a year to drop on Netflix!

The lives of three daughters, Akane, Nabiki, and Kasumi, get turned upside down when their father, Soun Tendou, who runs the Tendou Martial Arts School, promises that at least one of his daughters will be wed to another martial artist’s son. Ranma and his father, Genma, arrive, but they hide a great secret: whenever water touches the pair, Ranma turns into a girl, and Genma turns into a giant panda. Ranma, who becomes betrothed to the youngest of the Tendou sisters, Akane, must learn to get along with his future wife, and the pair begin attending school together.


JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure: Steel Ball Run 2nd Stage

Coming to Netflix: 2026

Controversially, Steel Ball Run isn’t receiving weekly or even monthly new episodes, as each “stage” will be released periodically on Netflix. This has left fans devastated online and sparked a major backlash over Netflix’s decision to release the new season.


 

The One Piece (Season 1) N

Coming to Netflix: 2026

TOEI Animation has been responsible for producing the One Piece anime since the 90s, but the remake of the East Blue Arc is in the hands of WIT Studio. The story will significantly reduce the runtime of Toe’s adaptation, offering fans and newcomers more engaging pacing.

Cyberpunk: Edgerunners (Season 2) N

Coming to Netflix: TBA

Cyberpunk: Edgerunners was a great hit not only for Netflix but also for the Cyberpunk Game, helping revitalise the game, which had a poor launch, and has since become one of the best video games of its generation. It’s unclear whether the second season will continue the story of Edgerunners or introduce a brand new cast of colourful characters.

Let’s hope the second season won’t traumatize fans as much as the first!

The Summer Hikaru Died (Season 2) N

Coming to Netflix: TBA

After a fantastic first season, it took barely a day before CygamesPictures announced production for the second season of The Summer Hikaru Died. We’re not sure when the second season will land on Netflix, but we are hoping for a 2026 release.

Two best friends living in a rural Japanese village: Yoshiki and Hikaru. Growing up together, they were inseparable… until the day Hikaru came back from the mountains and was no longer himself. “Something” has taken over Hikaru’s body, memories, feelings… and everything they know begins to unravel.

Sakamoto Days (Season 2) N

Coming to Netflix: TBA

Sakamoto Days has yet to be renewed for a second season, but we expect to hear of a renewal sooner rather than later! The series, much like Dan Da Dan, has been an extremely popular addition to the Netflix library, and continues Netflix’s effort to bring more weekly anime content to the streaming service.

Dan Da Dan (Season 3)

Coming to Netflix: 2027

Dan Dan has been one of the most popular anime titles on Netflix over the past year, having been watched by millions worldwide. Science Saru has done an incredible job with the anime so far, and fans can look forward to the adaptation of the Space Globalists Arc

The series is centered on two high school students, Momo and Okarun. Momo, who believes in ghosts, and Okarun, who believes in aliens, each deny the existence of the other, that is, until one fateful night on a dare, when Okarun has a run-in with a malicious spirit and Momo with over-inquisitive aliens, the pair find themselves stepping into the world of the paranormal and supernatural.
